The Club at Brookstone

Greens and tee boxes are in bad shape. What happened to this course seems like new owners are like previous ones.

First time playing this course in a number of years. Heard that it had new owners and they were revitalizing the course. The course was in better shape than I remember it, but it was extremely crowded (even for a Saturday) and terribly slow. The group in front of us was a 5-some and there was a large gap between them and the group in front of them. While this is not terribly concerning as it was a weekend, my main concern was that we were told that in light of the Covid pandemic they were taking precautions. 2 members of my foursome chose to have their own cart as one is very high risk for Covid complications. However, at the turn, an employee came up and demanded that they move to one cart because the course was out of golf carts. This was extremely unprofessional and unsafe during a global pandemic and frankly ruined our round. While we may eventually return, it will probably be a long time as there are plenty of other courses that will allow us to social distance and take separate carts.

Greens bad, tee boxes bad, what happened to the course use to enjoy course. Now in bad shape.

Not sure what happened but the greens are in horrible shape and the tee boxes are like concrete. The rest of the course is struggling currently and I’m not sure if something happened or a management change but someone needs to pick it up if they’re going to have the prices as high as they are.

It’s an up-and-down hilly course with severe penalties for errant shots. Greens were fast. Fairways growing in nicely. Tee boxes need a lot of help. Re-sodding them may be the solution.

Course was in good shape. I’m sure late May it will be unbelievable. Staff got me out early and made sure I knew the layout with today being my first trip here. Loved the GPS on the carts. Greens are quick but fair. You will catch yourself checking out the beautiful homes around the course. Saw a few for sale signs if anyone is interested. Very fair course. If I lived a little closer - I would check out the member rates. I could play here often.

Today the greens basically were mowed down so much it was like putting on concrete and on 9 barely putted it and the ball rolled 50 yes off of green. Was not impressed at all today. This coarse has gone downhill and will not be back even if they were charging summer prices. Way to much for coarse conditions.

Grass is cut too low for extremely sloped fairways. No rough to stop balls that hit the fairway from rolling out of bounds.

Fairways are a little dry. Course is hilly making it a bit challenging. Greens were treated and fast.
