The Landing at Pleasant Point

About
Playing just 6,642 yards from the tips, The Landing at Pleasant Point is a pleasing play for all level of golfer, making it one of the most popular golf courses in the Hilton Head region.
A Russell Breeden design, The Landing at Pleasant Point features rolling fairways and spectacular views. One of its main draws, however, is its price tag: It's one of the most affordable golf courses in the area.
Normally in good condition, it's a golf course that will reward accuracy and punish shots of folly; it's not too hard though, with a moderate 130 slope rating from the tips.
Nature lovers will enjoy the wildlife on the golf course. You'll see plenty of critters wandering about, and perhaps even deer or alligators.

Neverplayed
Rained out. Need a refund. No place on golfnow to call
Ok course to play.
Good course to play. The fairways need cut. The grass next to the fairways is way too long. Spent half the time looking for a ball that was at the edge of the fairway. Saw mower’s sitting on the course but no one mowing. Some fairways had piles of dead grass that should be blown away. Greens were okay. Very slow, probably need cut. Pretty much had the course to ourselves which was nice. Green fees went up this summer and I think a little high for the course.
Great Layout!
This course has a really great layout. If it was given a little more love around the greens and fairways it would be an even better course! Will definitely play this course again!
Nice round
Great layout, affordable and fun. A few of the greens were rough but I play for fun. Overall I would recommend playing the course
Not Worth It
Course was unkempt. 2 holes were like putting on carpet. The pro shop had nothing to offer. It seemed like they were going out of business. Not worth it.
Unless you can’t find a driving range this should be your second choice
Other than the woman at the front desk being extremely pleasant and friendly. I didn’t see a real reason to ever play this golf course again. Most tea boxes are just sand. 2 to 3 greens were just big chunks of sod all pieced together. Absolutely horrible golf course
Course was in much better shape this time than last. Greens still need work.
This course needs to be closed and given time to grow in
Considering there are not a lot of choices in this area for golf. I decided to give this one a try. When I called in the day prior to make a tee time I was told the course is in fabulous shape. That was bad info!
I should’ve known what I was getting into ,when I arrived at the golf course and saw seven cars in the lot at 10 AM. Golf carts with absolutely no amenities. And a pro shop selling shirts for $19.95. But I decided to treat it like a driving range and use it for practice. All you need to do is look at the pictures to see what the current conditions are. Many tee balls hit it in the fairway and then couldn’t be located because they ran into the rough, or what they call rough. Lol
. Numerous types of grasses are growing all over the golf course. A lot like hitting golf balls out of your grandparents backyard lol
The staff inside are extremely friendly and courteous. The facility is very clean but very little items for purchase.
I was told that many of the golf courses in the area have greens that are suffering with a disease. This one definitely is having issues. There are several greens with chunks of sod throughout the entire green
Good for practice of long irons and wedges but putting isn’t one of them!
The Landing
Roughly 1 year ago the management of this magnificently designed course changed. The PPPOA placed significant funds to get the course restored as it had been virtually neglected for some time. The broken irrigation system has new supply pumps and a new replenishment well pump. Thanks to the PPPOA Board sprinkler heads have been purchased and have been installed on greens (100% cover), fairways (85-90% cover),a add tees (85%cover). New tractors, mowers, and related equipment have allowed mowing and fertilization to take place. Sand traps have been replenished and some new ones added. Trees weed trimmed last week to enhance play. In May the fairways will be aerated. With a limited staff and the work of MANY volunteers, the course is said to be in the best shape that can be remembered. There is still a lot to do and crews are making the difference. A $30.00 round is a steal as evidenced by a crowded parking lot which was nearly empty every day since I moved here 5 years ago. Did I mention new carts? There are 25 or so interim carts which replaced 40 of which only 10 or so were working. 30 plus new carts will be received hopefully in the near future. Did I mention 48 players are coming in this week for the first tournament in who knows how long? Also, there will be a Father’s Day tournament on June 17th. $25.00 entry fee. Naysayers, you will be hard pressed to find a better value for you money and a better layout and view scape. So come on down!!!
This course has a great layout
The layout of the course is excellent, the staff were very friendly but the overall condition was subpar, it needs allot of work to get the fairway & greens back to even good condition, I would not recommend the course to anyone who wants to play a course that’s in good condition, I wouldn’t go back
Great Improvement
This course is undergoing an extensive renovation. New bunkers and traps on the course and holes #1 and #13 have been resodded and look like they could reopen by the end of the month. All the greens and fairways are extremely playable and getting better every time I golf out there. It looks like the maintenance crew is staying on top of all the mowing. For the money I would definitely give this course a try!
Lovely course but
Picturesque course. Fun and affordable. If you’re looking for country club greens and fairways, this ain’t it. If you’re looking to have fun and enjoy nature, it’s all good. Sand traps are bad, couple of temporary greens and the greens need some tlc.
Course definitely needs some TLC
Some greens have bare spots and need help. Two holes have temporary greens as they sod those greens. Fairways are mostly rough in need of grass. Most Tee boxes are just dirt. Good course for intermediate golfer to play and not have to worry about holding up serious golfers. Course has a great layout and plenty of wildlife. Hopefully they get course conditions in better shape.
Course needs some TLC.
Course has a great layout but has not been maintained.
Most fairways are in bad shape. Not much grass. Most greens need some attention. Bare spots and some weeds growing. Course is under new management and they are working to make it better. Its a great course for new or slower players as its not that crowed. Course has some challenging holes. Lots of wildlife.
Honestly wouldn’t be a bad course if they kept up with it. Staff is very friendly but the course conditions where pretty bad. I get I went in the off season, but when I pay to play somewhere I would like to know that the course is being renovated. I found out hole by hole. Most of the greens aren’t even done so the flags where in random places and the tee boxes weren’t in the best shape. Don’t get me wrong when the course is done with its renovation(at least I think they are renovating) it will be a nice place to play.
Plenty of potential
Second year of operation under new management. The course is a little rough around the edges, but it boasts a nice layout and is easy to play. With a little more maturity, this will be a little gem in the Hilton Head area. A little out of the way, but not a bad place to play, Wildlife in abundance.
The course is in really bad shape
Was not expecting a great course for that price point. Greens are no longer greens understand the course is under new management with some improvements in the future. Would not play again.
