Opened in 1970, Olde Beaufort Golf Club (formerly known as Lady's Island Country Club) is Beaufort's oldest golf club. It has a longstanding reputation for being one of the area's best values. The tight and challenging course demands long, accurate drives and cunning strategy. The layout twists and turns through dense groves of tall trees, making the golf course even trickier. True to its links design, the course is mostly flat but any lack of elevation changes is quickly forgotten when facing the strategically placed bunkers and numerous doglegs. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes is the beastly 10th. This hole requires a long tee shot between two bunkers in order to make room for the long second shot to the elevated green that is bordered by sand both left and right.

Olde Beaufort golf course

Course needs a lot of work. Fairways are rock hard with hardly any grass. Greens are in rough condition. Wouldn’t play there if we didn’t get a deal. One bight spot was how friendly the staff is.

Old Beaufort is looking better

Course conditions have really improved. Greens have come back in fair shape, just a few bad spots. Fairways are in good shape. Like the course layout.

Course getting better

First time I played course since greens were killed. Course is coming back again. Greens are pretty good. A few have some really bad spots yet. Fairways are tee boxes are ok. Nice to see course getting back in shape.

Aesthetic and design quality is very good, Greens are not!

This is a long course and has very good design elements which will challenge the average golfer. The fairways are fairly wide and forgiving but the traps are strategically place, making it more of a challenge. There are four tee positions fro every hole. The greens are quite disappointing and truly are terrible. this is shame because otherwise this is a very fun course to play. the cost is low, as it should be with the greens condition, so you may forgive some of the frustrating aspects of the course because of the cost. The pro-shop is fair, as is the attached 19th hole. Overall, a fun course if you can forgive the greens.

DO NOT PLAY

I have played over 25 courses since I started playing golf and this is by FAR the WORST golf course I have ever played. I can not think of one single thing this place does well. I played here over a year ago and I remember it being just as bad before. However, my buddy made a tee time and I thought to myself that the name rung a bell. But, once I pulled into the parking lot I immediately remembered why and nothing has changed with the exception that it has gotten worse. Greens horrible, fairways dry and has weeds everywhere, bunkers are dirt on top of clay, chipping green horrible, putting green horrible, range horrendous, cart path doesn't even exist on 80% of the holes, etc. I'll just let the pictures prove it. $30 for a terrible experience. The course is UNPLAYABLE and I am not exaggerating. They didn't even have ice and water for us to drink. This place should be shut down immediately.
