Good day for golf. The course was ok shape for this time of the year

My son and I arrived on a bright sunny day to a friendly staff and a golf course that had endured a brutal winter to find dormant fairways and rough but excellent greens! We finished in 3 1/2 hours and even found the maintenance crew ever so mindful of us being able to play through. Overall great day to enjoy some links time with my son who was home from college on break.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The course is terrific. New greens, fresh sand, well cared for course. Will definitely play again and recommend to others.

The ball was sometimes a little hard to find against the dormant fairways but they weren't in bad shape. The fringe of all the greens is still sand (looks like they were re-sodded recently) so that made for some awkward chips. The greens rolled smooth but slow.

The course was laid out nice a little challegeing but over all great.....I would like to have the hole laid out on the score card or golf cart to see hazards on the shape of the hole. I would definitely play there again in the near future

I like playing this course. The only complaints I have are the greens could have been in better shape. Putts that should have dropped would miss because they were kind of lumpy. And a golf course should NEVER let a group go 5 play on a Sunday!!! I don't care if they were "members". Then on top of that they wouldn't let us play through! Plenty of nice courses to play in the Upstate, if it happens again I won't be back...

A decent little course that will challenge any skill level. Greens are good, and the staff is very friendly.

I have played Links of Tryon many times, but was first time using Golf Now. Was a good experience, was easy after I got registered on the site.
I will use Golfnow for sure in the future !
By the way the course is getting much needed upgrades, I like what they are doing. The new Zoyza greens are getting very good, and will only get better.

Greens a crusty, but overall a value for the money

Last time I played this course was early summer. The greens are in great shape. Most of the bunkers have been filled in with soft sand. Fairways were in excellent shape. It's a work in progress. They've redesigned a few holes and just recently laid sod. Way better shape than it was in the summer. I got a hot deal for only $10 so you couldn't beat the price. Only issue is that hole #9 they had equipment in the middle of the fairway. Expected since they were redesigning the hole. Also becareful on hole #10. If you push it right it'll get lost in all those leaves.

Links has had a tough time in the last year but you can see the efforts to bring the course back into shape. The new greens are excellent and they're working hard to get the bunkers back into shape also. It's a good deal with some discounted tee times. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the course looks like next spring.

The layout is very interesting. When the new grass settles in, it will probably be great. I'm from the Philadelphia area and I never played on Zoysia grass. I lost 3 balls just off the fairway because the ball would just settle to the bottom. My playing partners who were locals were even complaining about it. It also felt fake, like astro- turf. (Give me bent grass any day)... Its a very hard turf. Difficult to figure out the grain. I was even told there is no grain, but I dont believe that due to how the putts reacted at different times. I know this sounds negative, dont take it that way though. It was an above average course and I would definitely play it again. Golfing in the south is just very different than up north.

Played this course many times over the years and it is always in great shape.

This course has many beautiful holes. The greens roll great and are very challenging. One of my favorite upstate courses.

Enjoyed playing The Links, looks like they are getting the course in good shape, would suggest giving it a try.

The course has a good layout but needs some work. The bunkers are horrible. The greens are in good condition for being relatively new.

Course in great shape as usual. Only gripe i had was the greens were fuzzy, but its the time of year they dont cut as short. Made the putts very slow compared to last times i played there. Great value for the price.

Over all pretty good course. Just put down new Greens a couple of months ago, but there coming in well. The worst part are the bunkers, they need lots of sand. Nice layout of holes, very good for not so long players.

We were late for our tee-time on a Sunday (bad planning combined with bad traffic). Even though they had a tournament, they were great about getting us out in a reasonable time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the course was in good shape. Definitely a place we'll go back to .
