Northwoods Golf Course
About
Northwoods Golf Club is one of the Columbia area's premier public courses. P.B. Dye, son of renowned course architect Pete Dye, designed the layout, incorporating some of his father's signature features. The golf course is player friendly enough to appeal to any skill level but there are some challenges in store as well. Mature trees line most of the fairways and there are a few strategically placed bunkers that come into play. You won't come across much water on this golf course and it's not terribly long either. It's gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course's signature hole is the par-4 14th, which features the famous Dye railroad ties bordering a lake that hugs the bunkered green. Northwoods G.C. also offers a practice facility with a lighted driving range and putting green.

Always a fun round
Always glad to call The Spur my home course. Of course only at fault to the weather the course was wet, but the greens are still rolling pretty nice regardless of that and I can’t complain. Keep up the great work
Gone downhill
Have played this course many times over the years but this last experience signals it’s on the way down. Clubhouse attendant was rude and spray painted greens prove they have given up. Probably our last round.
Nice layout, conditions improving
The Spur at Northwoods has a nice, challenging layout, and course conditions are good. They host a terrific practice area with a nice, wide, level range, a large practice green, and a short range practice time area for chipping and sand play. The staff are very friendly.
So-So
Very wet, cart path only round. Pro Shop staff VERY RUDE, and not just one of them, but all of them. Acted as if they didn't want you there. Charged an extra $25 if you wanted to ride alone in a cart, EVEN if you were playing as a single and joined another group.
I won't be back there for a long while.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for your experience during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. Please reach out to our management team at {{business_phone_number}, and thank you for choosing Northwoods Golf Course. We hope to hear from you soon.
Failure to potst COVID-19 Precautions on Website
The management of the course has implemented a COVID-19 cart riding rule that has not been posted on the GN website. They are requiring 2 riders per cart or they will charge $25.00, if a players chooses their own cart.
Given the seriousness of the pandemic, this is an issue that should be in bold red notes on the Good Morning website at the time of booking a tee time.

Always good
Iike the course layout. The back nine puts a different spin on things. Only need to follow COVID guild lines and not have more than one on cart or have carts shared with masked payers.
Stay away.
The pace of play allowed at the course today allowed me to write this review between shots. The course is like a swamp, and the pace of play is miserable a course in this condition cannot allow 8 minute Tee times. I would suggest playing elsewhere. It was not worth $18
Hello and thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve and use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing Northwoods Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
Too slow, too long.
Over all the course is in good shape, but I found it to be too long for a 70 y.o. A super senior tee might help some. The pace was terrible. We waited literally every shot from tee and fairway. I play golf to have fun, this was not fun.

This course has come a long way. The conditions are a lot better than it was earlier this spring, so glad to see it. Now if they can do something about the cart paths.
Nice Round
Friendly folks, good greens & beautiful day... we'll be back.
Hello, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Northwoods Golf Course.
Wet Mess
It was a very wet course due to recent rain, but it played very favorably at times. I’m a 20 handicap and shot 25 over with tough conditions. It was fun despite the cart path only rule. Definitely one of the better courses in the area.
Hi Rob, thank you for reviewing us. We see you rated the course 3-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve before your next round. New Greens / New Course
The rumors are true! I played this course today for the first time in a few years and it was hands down the best it has E.V.E.R. been. The new greens completely changed the course. They are just awesome! So much better than the two nearest popular public courses. Can’t wait to get back and play this again. The layout has always been great but with the improved fairways and new greens, it’s like a brand new course. This isn’t the Northwoods of old.

Decent
Northwoods is a decent golf course to play. Has some fun holes but some not so much. Some of the fairways are rough and the pace of play is just God awful. It gets annoying playing golf having to wait 10 minutes between every shot sometimes. They clearly tend to lean towards overbooking and making money and doesn't do well tending to their golfers and ensuring they have a good experience.
