Northwoods Golf Course
About
Northwoods Golf Club is one of the Columbia area's premier public courses. P.B. Dye, son of renowned course architect Pete Dye, designed the layout, incorporating some of his father's signature features. The golf course is player friendly enough to appeal to any skill level but there are some challenges in store as well. Mature trees line most of the fairways and there are a few strategically placed bunkers that come into play. You won't come across much water on this golf course and it's not terribly long either. It's gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course's signature hole is the par-4 14th, which features the famous Dye railroad ties bordering a lake that hugs the bunkered green. Northwoods G.C. also offers a practice facility with a lighted driving range and putting green.

Solid public course
Fun course with a good layout. Always have a good time here.
Greens need work
Were not sure what happened. We normally add this to our rotation but this time the greens looked like they had fungus and were difficult to putt on. Had we known this we would have not played there and kept the beautiful course down the street Cobblestone. We will check feedback next time before we add this to the rotation.
Hi, thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the greens are very important to us. Please know that we are working to get everything up to par as the current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Northwoods Golf Course. We hope you'll give us another chance to show you how we've improved.
Greens in bad shape overall and the actual flags were removed from the pins which made it next to impossible to laser a correct yardage. Not a terrible layout just needs a lot of love.

Hidden gem
Terrific local course that is challenging yet fair from tee to green and well maintained — it has really come a long way over the past few years. I recently returned to playing golf after a 4-5 year layoff, and was pleasantly surprised at the improved conditions. The staff/course superintendent/groundskeepers at The Spur at Northwoods have done a phenomenal job transforming this course into a very playable and enjoyable loop. Some of the greens need a little work but overall in very nice shape, although the undulations can make putting a rough go on some holes. However, it is obvious that they have put in the time and resources to make dramatic improvements to the putting surfaces as opposed to years past. Overall this is a fun and challenging course — easy enough for a high handicapper to get around but still challenging for advanced players. Thank you to the crew at The Spur for working hard during these crazy times when a round of golf gives me and my sons a chance to spend time together doing something we love in a safe environment. The staff is great and all around a fantastic experience .
One of the worst kept courses we have played in the last year! Cart path needs upgrading and the course is in need of a better drainage system. The course is not worth $40.00/player!
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We see you rated the course 1-star and are interested in learning what we can do to improve for your next visit. We take single star feedback very serious at our course. You are welcome to comment further or reach out to our team in the golf shop. We always appreciate the feedback. Thank you for playing Northwoods Golf Course.
Greens a Little Dry
Overall course was in decent condition. Greens were pretty dry and crusty but not unplayable by any means. Definitely need some water soon. Fairways were nice. Overall pretty good day for golf.
Fair Golf, Decent Course
It is straightforward, good combination of challenging and opportunity to put a good round together. The staff has worked hard over the years to improve the course conditions and it is likely to continue on that path.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Northwoods Golf Course another try in the near future.
Water
The course is well designed, but it is always wet! Waited three days after a rain and it still looked like it had just rained. I think drainage is poor on this course. One particular member of the staff complains constantly about Golf now booked tee times and that he doesn't make any money, but yet continues to use Golf now, I don't understand??? Just be aware if you booked through Golf now, he will bring it up.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Northwoods Golf Course another try in the near future.
Great course
Very good condition for February. Other courses should take notice that it is possible to have nice greens in February. Really enjoyed the round.
The Spur
Good value for the money. The overall course was muddy, there are are lot of broken cart pathes.

Sidney
Second time I’ve played this course in the past two weeks. This course is really starting to come back into playing shape. The only thing I can say about this course right now is that it does not hold water very well. I think if they just spend some money on the drainage system, it could be an excellent track to play every week. The staff is always friendly and the pace of play is around 4 hours during busy play. Can’t wait to see when the course really dries out and see how the fairways really roll out.
Sidney
Pace of play was very slow. The course does not drain well.
