The Windermere Club
About
Located just outside of Columbia, The Windermere Club sits along the banks of the lake that it takes its name from. Pete Dye designed the golf course, crafting a number of memorable holes. It's his only design in the Midlands. No two holes are alike on this challenging layout, so expect to use every club in your bag. The golf course offers a variety of risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to both low and high handicappers. There are also five, and sometimes six, tee boxes on every hole, making the golf course even more appealing for any skill level. The fairways are generous but lined with mature hardwoods and there are strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Golfers at The Windemere Club will also encounter subtle but tricky elevation changes and several lakes and ponds.

Needs help
The Pro Shop guy was super friendly, as were the starter and the ranger. The course had a nice layout, greens were in good condition. Fairways were rough and that is my biggest complaint.
Diamond in the “Rough”
Really fantastic layout through the woods and some neat finishing holes next to the lake! Well worth the trip from Columbia! I’ll be quite honest, the condition of the tees and fairways was mediocre at best, if you need lush tees and fairways for your experience to be favorable, this may not be your place. However, the greens were in good shape and the bunkers really good and it was a really stunning layout and fun to play! Definitely recommend!
Great Friday Afternoon Round
In the area for a meeting at the University and had time to get in a round. Very glad that I did.
There was an outting taking place during our front 9 that did slow up play but once we got to the back 9 absolutely no pace issues. The first few holes (and the practice tee) were a bit rough (very dry). But, once we got thru those holes, the course improved with every hole. Putts rolled well. The course was challenging but fair.
Was paired with a member who was very friendly.
A great round and early start to the weekend
What a dump
Played on Easter Sunday so the course was empty or could have been empty because it’s in such terrible condition that people don’t play here. The layout was good but they have the worst tee boxes I’ve ever seen. The cart paths were almost impassable. They have old equipment just laying around. I would not pay more than $50 to play here.
Huge bang for your buck
More on the challenging side, but a very well maintained course! Staff was excellent. Greens were challenging but were beautiful! And the price ... Well a top notch course that definitely can be charging more but it is extremely affordable!
Nice round of golf.
Wonderful layout that needs some TLC. Club
House is nice, but also needs TLC. Would play again.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course, will be even nicer when the grass greens up. Would definitely recommend to fellow golfers.
Great layout. Average condition.
Layout is very good and the conditions are at least average. Pace of play for us was very good and it was an enjoyable round of golf. Good value for the golf now price
Great course layout
A variety of holes, Challenging dog legs and elevation changes. just need some work on the cart paths, its a very bumpy ride.
Much Better Shape
I played Windermere a few months back and it was in some tough shape. Not in bad shape. But clearly needed some love. This last round the overall course was in much better shape. The greens were punched a few weeks prior it seemed so the greens were firm and fast.
Played a Saturday afternoon which happened to be the first home game for the college so there was nobody on the course in front of me, which was great. As a solo player most rounds I play quick so it was nice not having to wait.
I’ll be playing again soon.
