About
Northwoods Golf Club is one of the Columbia area's premier public courses. P.B. Dye, son of renowned course architect Pete Dye, designed the layout, incorporating some of his father's signature features. The golf course is player friendly enough to appeal to any skill level but there are some challenges in store as well. Mature trees line most of the fairways and there are a few strategically placed bunkers that come into play. You won't come across much water on this golf course and it's not terribly long either. It's gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The golf course's signature hole is the par-4 14th, which features the famous Dye railroad ties bordering a lake that hugs the bunkered green. Northwoods G.C. also offers a practice facility with a lighted driving range and putting green.

Good golf course
The course was in ok condition, but that is to be expected since the days before they got hit heavy with rain. The greens were in perfect condition, plenty fast for putting. Some holes had mud with 120 yards of the green but I think that should clear up with more sun and time. Overall great course and a great price for a weekday round.
A Great SC Golf Course!
This was a great experience. From the initial walk into the club house and being greeted, to sitting in premium leather seats on the golf cart, this has it all. The pace of play was decent, we got held up by an elderly foursome on the back nine. The course was challenging and well kept. If I were to offer any criticism, it would be for the course to improve their tee boxes; they were in rough shape (white tees).
Nice layout, terribly slow, no water
Overall the course is in good condition and has a nice layout ...Unfortunately the pace of play makes it unbearable at times. Have been been stuck behind groups of 5 more than once, and they don't seem to care about holding everyone up. Apparently the course knows but because they're "regulars" they just let it happen.
Also the only course I've played at in the Columbia area that doesn't have any water stations available on the course. Could be a great place if management fixed some of these issues

Course was phenomenal in my opinion and I will absolutely be coming back asap
Good value
Although they had just worked on greens, we enjoyed a relaxing day.
Good value for price
Greens and staff were the best part. Greens were slow but well maintained for public course, Cart path and bunkers in rough shapes. Most tee boxes were average and had to find flat spot.

Really nice greens
The greens and fairways were really green and manicured. Cart paths are awful. It has some nice shady areas.
