Very Nice course layout and Practice Facilities

FT Jackson golf club has 2 18 hole courses, Wildcat the one I played on Nov 5th was in good condition especially the greens but not quite worth the price of 48. Some of the best practice facilities around Columbia with multiple putting greens and a pitching area in the back of the driving range.

Decent course

Getting on to Fort Jackson was simple. Gate guard asked if I had a pass. I didn’t, told him I booked a tee time. He just waived me through with minor reluctance. Club house didn’t have my Golf Now reservation. But that didn’t seem to bother them. Got to the first tee and another group had the same tee time. But they didn’t mind letting us go ahead. Course conditions were similar to a slightly above average for a public course. Greens were in good condition. A couple fairways were below average, but most were a bit above average. Tees were fair. Course layout was mediocre. Not a lot of variety. No water. Decent amount of green side Bunkers that were in pretty good shape. Paid $25 which included a cart so would definitely say it was worth the price.

Great Track

Always a great course and pace of play is always great. I hope the opening up to the public doesn’t impact that. Stay out of the rough!!! Unless you like losing balls. Great course though. Tough but fair.
