About
This Willard Byrd design was sculpted through the rolling hills surrounding Puppy Creek. Created under a traditional concept with 18 distinctive holes the Bayonet is a course that the golfer will never tire of playing. Many consider The Bayonet as the "Best Kept Secret in the Sandhills".

Good Course
Great course some off season repairs done, coming out of winter. Greens are awesome

You can’t go wrong playing this course.30 minutes from Pinehurst and the price is probably 50% plus cheaper for the same course.Greens very good.They are doing work on drainage which is needed,It will only get better.

Pace of play was slow due to a tournament that I was unaware of.

terrible course conditions
The range was soaked. I figured they might have over watered. Nope it was the entire course. You’d think it just rained but there hasn’t been much rain in a few weeks. Yet the fairways were muddy. Fairways were scalped -pretty much played on dead grass.
This course is usually in great shape but the day I played it wasn’t. The staff are 100% cool. The layout is fun. Just bad conditions made it a waste.
The layout is the best feature
No homes on the course. Water comes into play on several holes. The course is very challenging and requires some shot making. Fun to play.
Always challenging
Great course with good layout, Slick greens . Shotmaking is at a premium. Looking for a good round try this one.
Great Course Bring Food
Great course! Some holes were a little damp and it hasn’t rained lately so I assume that’s from over watering. I bring food though no grill and food there is limited!
Really nice layout
Really interesting layout, makes the most of the natural landscapes and woods/creeks. Greens were fast, fairways were plush.
