The Preserve at Verdae
About
The Preserve at Verdae sprawls across a lush landscape of rolling hills and meadows covered with beautiful Carolina forests. Formerly known as Verdae Greens, the golf course was completely revamped but one of the primary goals of the renovation was to find harmony between golf and nature. The carefully reworked course does just that, blending seamlessly into its scenic surroundings. Rambling brooks wander across the layout and provide water hazards on a few holes. The wind is also a major factor on this golf course. The breezes can be either light and refreshing or strong and blustery, making proper club selection even more important. The most photographed hole on the golf course is the par-3 second. If you're lucky enough to come when the azaleas are blooming, this hole offers a breathtaking setting.

Great Course & Even Better Staff
Played today with my 9 year old - we evacuated due to Hurricane to Greenville. The course was great- great layout. Greens were fast and true. Tee boxes could’ve used a haircut is my only complaint. The best part was the staff - from front desk to starter to maintenance and course workers - they are the nicest group of people you will ever encounter & I have played all over the world. All in all it was a memorable day and I look forward to coming back. Thank you to everyone at the Preserve we had a fantastic time!!!!
Want a challenge?
The Preserve is a fun and challenging course. The greens are in perfect shape, and will test the best of putters. Fairways range from open to tight and unforgiving. Overall one of my favorite courses in Greenville. Never a bad round, always a challenge, and always is good conditions. The clubhouse restaurant is minimal, but the course location puts you minutes from great food. And with a name like The Preserve, don’t be surprised if you see deer, turkey, and a range of migratory birds hanging around.
Great course
Love this course, in great shape.....always though for me.
Love It
Fun times and we play on the First Tee Book. Love it and thanks for joining that team.
Nice Challenging Course
First time playing any course is always a challenge, and it’s especially challenging playing a course with a lot of hills and doglegs. But course management was pretty intuitive as to direction, except for blind streams, etc. So shot placement is important. Some holes tight, and others fairly wide. Big, rolling greens. And the greens only reason not 5 stars in all categories. Very hard greens, fast , and you can tell recent aeration.
Staff, especially starter, friendly and helpful. Overall, a worthwhile day on the course
Overpriced for the overgrown weeds
I found a Hot Deal for $17 plus got $10 off for a GN coupon so played for $7. I played here before and always loved the course layout, greens and overall toughness of the course. For the regular price of $63 this course is wayyyyy overpriced due to the what they call preserving wildlife in which in my mind should say preserving maintenance on the wild weeds. The course is tough as it is and with the overgrown weeds that surround the out of bounds they should at least maintain it so you can have a chance to find your ball. Fairways are tight and dont have much room for error. So with the overgrown weeds along the cart paths and along the left and right side areas your taking out more balls and adding more strokes. I paired up with a guy 20 years younger and he said it should be prestige for $63! I agreed! If you get a deal like I did then jump on it and bring cheaper balls if your notva straight shooter. It is one of the better courses around still but not for $63!
Thank you for rating us 3-stars. We have plans in place to remove the the weeds from the golf course. This will aid golfers in finding their golf balls. Additionally, we will use your review as guidance to competitively price our tee times against other golf courses in the area. We hope that you book another round with us soon at The Preserve at Verdae.
Tight and technical
Preserve is a nice course and has some great holes. It is very tight with trouble on both sides of the fairway for most holes.
Great Course/ great condition/ rates to high.
Great course. Was a member for several years. Enjoyed it greatly. Left due to pace of play, also constantly had tournament events that occupied course too much. I have played a few times since I resigned membership and the course is still awesome and in great condition. However their rates compared to other courses in the area are 25% higher. I could understand because of the condition of course but not when it takes 5 hours to play.
Toughest course in Greenville
Very tough course. I am a 8 handicap, and this course is extremely challenging, but one of the prettiest courses in Greenville.
The staff isn’t exactly friendly from my encounters, my knock is always the staff, not the course. I have friends and family who are members at private such as, thornblade and Greenville Country Club. I will say Verdae is the snobbiest, I get the 12-15 dollar golf now deals so it’s a no brainer. I would never pay full price 100% because of the staff. I have encounter several nice people that work there, but equal number of employees who don’t make my time enjoyable. But Dallas the cart Woman is awesome, Keith up front grows on you. And Kirby the older gentlemen who sends people off is a class act.
Once again great challenging course
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we are always encouraging our staff to be the best they can be. We hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Very friendly and helpful staff
This course is in excellent condition. I am a female golfer with a handicap of about 23. This was.a very challenging layout.
Hot day great course
Challenging fun course with many unique holes to play, you will use all of your clubs to play here. Staff were very friendly and accommodating I would recommend this course. From New Jersey I will be back again when I get down here again loved the dogleg right uphill hole on the back nine very cool hole I will remember.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing The Preserve at Verdae.
