Hit it straight or pay the price
Course is in good condition. The long rough mostly Bermuda make it very difficult to find your ball. If it gets down in you have to be right on top of it to see it. Played it a couple of times and will surly play it again.
interesting
Was first time playing after the new holes but plays very well will definitely be back
Good but going to be better
This was a good hybrid 9 course: play one set of tee's on "front" and another set on "back" with 3 primary tee boxes to choose from. The renovations they have planned are going to make this a great course for average golfers looking for a fun round with some challenging shots.
Good conditions for the price.
Greens recently aerated, course looks great. I play all three tee colors when I go most of the time. Can play 27 holes in about 5 hours.
Better than expected
This was my first time playing this course and I was impressed. I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews that were left here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The fairways were in really good shape and were nice and green. The greens were about a week out from being punched and sanded but they they rolled nicely and I would imagine they will be per perfect in about a week. I will definitely play here again.
Average "B" Course
Layout was nice, pace of play was good. It was very dry and the fairways were hard to hit off. More irrigation would help tremendously. This course has a lot of potential to be excellent.
Worst Golf Course Ever
I am a budget golfer who isn’t very good but good enough to know what a good course is. I’ve played an abundance of courses from $20-$50 and for $38 this was the worse golf course ever. The fairways are like playing in someone’s over grown backyard. The greens are unbelievably hard and holes are put on steep ridges. Terrible golf experience. However the staff are great super nice and helpful.
9 on my own.
The layout had changed since playing here before. Tees are not well marked. Decent course for 9 holes.
Pickens
A lot of work has been done to the course, with a lot still in progress. I would be willing to go back after all modifications are complete. Great staff!!!!
Work in Progress
The Pickens course is undergoing renovation/build out. The proshop is currently a trailer, but they do have plans and are starting to build a clubhouse.
The tees are blue/orange. Play the Blue for the 1st 9 and Orange for the 2nd. This gives some variety even changing a par 4 into a par 5. Course is open enough that you are not loosing balls every hole if you are not completely straight off the tee but is still challenging.
It has been hot here and the fairways were very dry and hard. I hope as they put in a new clubhouse they do spme watering on the fairway.
Overall an enjoyable afternoon on a nice course.
The staff was very friendly as was the other golfer that I met there and played with.
