Hole 3 par 5 Photo submitted by Rick9857150 on 09/10/2013
Great experience
I have played this course for over 35 years under several owners and this is by far the BEST condition this course has ever been in. The greens were great, the fairways and tee boxes have had considerable work, the sand in the traps was consistent (although we found a few small rocks) and the staff was very cordial. We will definitely paly Heddle's Hideaway again.
One of the best staffs around.
Had to drive about 40 minutes, and I would say the course was a nice layout in decent shape. There are signs that they are working to get it better. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They made going there worth the drive. My son and I had a great time.
Very Nice Course
Really enjoyed my last round.
Greens in really good condition as are the fairways. Hit the ball where you are supposed to and there really no issues with a good score.
All new golf carts with GPS is a nice perk
Not terrible for the money.
Payed $14 for 18 w/ a cart... Wouldn't pay anymore than that. Greens were average and overall condition was adequate, but rough in parts. Course was less than 6,000 yards, even from the tips - very short. If you're close, not the worste choice. Don't drive over 30 mins for this one.
Uphill course
Most of the tees shots were uphill very few where elevated. The carts were cool with gps location on them. Be careful not to hit into the group in front of you because of layout of course
Nice course
I enjoyed the layout o the course and condition. Staff was very friendly and had great professionalism. Only issue I had was with NATS. They was horrible, I even had some body spray to repel them but to many to deal with. I will visit again in a month to see what's goin on with that situation before I schedule another tee time.
Needs Work
The greens were in good shape. I liked just a few holes on the whole course. The tee boxes and fairways need a lot of work. I will play again once the grass and all grow in during the summer.
Overbooked
Course was very overbooked. Made for a brutally slow round with 6 groups waiting to tee off on 1.
The greens were excellent.
The course was in very good shape considering all the rain and snow that we had.
I was disappointed though by the charges from Golf Now. After the taxes that was added in, there really was no discount at all.
Place every shot
Great course that is challenging on every shot.Management continues to make improvements that make this a fun place to play.Very good greens.New carts with GPS helps speed up play. Food could be better and more reasonably priced. Very nice clubhouse. Would be difficult to walk, but a few do. Great setup for seniors and limber backs as well. Recommend you give it a try. If you have not played here recently....you will be surprised at the improvements!
Great course for the money
Really coming together lately, just got in some new carts. Greens looked great I'm ready to see what it plays like this year!
Get ready for the hills
Nice course but can be challenging with all of the hill. Women at front desk is extremely nice and friendly. I would play there again and again
great course for the price
Fairly easy course. Well worth the money and the pace was great
Elevation changes and variety of hole layouts
Most challenging course for good price. Greens are pretty fast and receptive.
Interesting course
Many interesting holes with several having significant elevation changes. Staff was friendly. Worth the 40 minute drive!
Course is a great challenge!
I played this course on November 5th it was in great shape and it is always a challenge playing here and I love it. I would recommend you and friend come out and play this course. You won't be disappointed at all. The greens are in such great shape. Just an overall good course and he best and friendliest staff. Thanks heddles!
great for the money
wanted a course to play on the way home from a trip, chose HH from the golfnow list for the area. good little course for the money, lots of up and down, not too long, would be fun for a buddy group. great value.
Too many hills. Hardly a flat lie anywhere.
This course was in good condition. Hole #1 has a flat fairway after the tee shot, but then its all uphill, downhill and sideways hill after that. There are alot of holes where the landing area off the tee is an extreme slope. If I hit a bad tee shot, I expect to have the ball 6-12 inches above or below my feet, but not in the middle of the fairway. If you like elevation change, this is the course for you. Apparrently if you like wearing jeans and t-shirt, this is also the course for you. (Group several holes behind us)
Really hilly
The greens were in good shape, the fairways and rough was not in particiularly good shape. Course is very very hilly and makes for a frustrating round. Even if you hit a great shot you have a terrible lie. Some greens really fast, some pretty slow. Pace of play was pretty poor. Had to wait on every shot.
I like the change in elevaions
This course has conditions not usually found in the Piedmont or coastal areas, being a lot of uphill shots as well as corresonding downhils. If you can deal with uneven lies or want the challenge, it is great. Greens were excellent and true.
