The Club at Pine Forest

About
The 18 semi-private holes at Pine Forest wind through the tall Summerville pines with numerous live oaks, dogwoods and a lake system thrown in for good measure. With an equal balance of straightaways, doglegs and elevation changes, this course is nicely balanced, with challenges and fun in store for golfers of all levels. Rental clubs and electric carts are available.
At 6,905 yards with a 138-slope rating, Pine Forest lives up to its name, as the course has numerous barriers of tall Summerville pines to cause problems for an errant shot. The Bob Spence design also makes use of water to add to the difficulty of some holes. It's a semi-private course, and they've named each hole, with No. 12 being known as "Little Augusta" while No. 15 is "Wastelands."

We played in the afternoon, following a day of rain, so considering that, the course was nice and enjoyable. Plus, we were playing behind some twosomes, so the pace of play was excellent. The pro shop staff were very friendly and helpful. It was about a 50 min drive to the course, but we plan to make the trip again soon
Slow Pace of Play fuel to too many tee times not being spread out far enough in between
Thus course is a real challenging course with a ton of water. Almost every other hole has water on it in one way shape or form. Fairways are very thin and tight. Greens are small and challenging too. It made for a long day for a 25 handicap. Lost a ton of balls. Staff was very kind and nice.
Challenging layout, good condition
Challenging layout, lots of water, some fairways are semi link style with rolling hills. Greens are quick with some challenging undulations. Really liked the course. The driving range is mat only, so not thrilled with that.
6 hour round
Longest round of my life. Ranger dis nothing to speed things up. Slowest round I’ve ever had
Quite satisfying
Played here for the first time with a foursome on a Saturday and all of us were pretty happy. The course is surprisingly hilly for one close to the coast, with some tricky dunes and collection areas around the greens, as well as unseen lagoons, so it’s delightfully challenging to the average golfer.
The greens were on the slow side, but very puttable. Likely kept on the slow side so they don’t get burned out and/or frustrate amateurs with the slope of some of the greens.
If I had to be critical, the water coolers on the course were basically empty, just a trickle of warm water left, the ball washers were also lacking fluids, and some tee boxes could use some more grass. Fairways were pretty good, rough had some crab grass and thick-leaf grasses, but all in all, can’t really complain for the decent price. Kinda wish I were a local, I’d surely look into a membership package!
Slow play
They should not let five sums out. They should also have a ranger out there keeping up with speed of play a 6-hour plus round on a Tuesday afternoon is unacceptable
Raines our second half
I was rained out the second half of the round. John at the shop said I had to contact GolfNow to get a rain check or refund. Can’t find an email or phone number. Can you please help out?
