Great facility
I spent a lot of time looking around at all the great Mtn views. The course isn't surrounded by a ton of homes. Fast pace of play and wanted to stay all day. The 8th hole was epic. I really liked the pond in front of the Par 3 green. My ball seemed to fly a few yards further, due to the thin air.
OK but Not Green
Did not expect a fantastic course, but the green was extremely horrible. It was like fairway.
Overall course condition was okay.
If management keeps the greens like this, no recommend this course to play.
One minor thing was cart sign up procedure.
I thought the driving electric cart here is very dangerous, due to either cart itself or course.
Had to take very long to sign up for cart thru computer which is not almost useless.
poor conditions
This is the second time we have showed up only to find out they aerated the greens. Some greens had so much sand you couldn't see the grass. The course should notify golfnow that way the customers have the option to book or not. It was like putting on the beach
Nice course, chilly staff
I was pleasantly surprised with the course conditions. Fairways were great, greens were also in good condition. Course is short but tight on many holes so accuracy off of the tee is important..
I used Golfnow.com to book both 9 hole rounds on my week long visit in Big Bear. Both times I got a very chilly reception in the pro shop..
Always fun to play
Great course to play in whenever I come up to big bear in the spring and summer. The fairways are always taken care of and in great condition. The rough is challenging at times but makes it fun. I gave the food an average only because I have yet to order their food. But I'm pretty sure it would be good.
Visit Grizzlie Bear family at the zoo too!
9 hole course is in very good shape... with some challenging holes especially #8..blue skys, peace and quiet, and fresh air...visit the grizzly bear family at the zoo too while you are in the area...as well as Captain Anchorage for prime rib and Hacienda for Mexican food. Both fantastic restaurants. It was a great weekend in the mountains, and a definite mulligan "do over"
This course is 9 holes in the scenic Big Bear Mountains.
This course is fun but challenging for novice golfers. The tee distances are long between. The putting greens are rough and need attention. There are beautiful views all around. It is a great place to golf. It took us 2 1/2 hours with a cart for the course.
Dangerous track..
The scenery is beautiful and the fairways and greens were better than I expected, but the course has holes going back and forth to each other exposing the following groups to constantly be in the line of fire from the next group teeing off. One hole puts you right next to a driving range with zero protection from errant shots. No wonder the waivers you sign are endless. I won't be back as it is WAY overpriced for what it is.
It is a nice course.
They get the course up to speed in such a short time after the snow season.
