Bear Mountain Golf Course

Lady working in the pro shop was very curteous and friendly. It was my wife’s first time out so our pace was slower but we did let a group behind us move ahead, they were thankful for that. Marshall was driving the course, which made us feel at ease. Overall fun time out.

I have been playing here once or twice a week for a year now. I was thinking about buying a pass since it’s my the only course within an hour, but I have never felt uncomfortable and mistreated by course staff my life. The value for you money at this course is an absolute joke, considering you spend $35 and only get 9 holes with a cart that barley even steers. Another thing is the course staff doesn’t have golf knowledge. They don’t inform you about any course conditions or pin positions etc. And don’t even get me started on the driving range.

I tip my hat to the maintenance team for working with what they got cause maintaining a course in this elevation is tough.

I booked a round on Golfnow for 12:45 today for $39 for 9 holes, when I arrived at the course to check in the girl at the desk said it was $49, I told her I booked on Golfnow for $39, I told her I had a confirmation email , she wanted to see it so I got it for her, she then said Golfnow was wrong. The manager Bjorn came over and said he would not honor my Golfnow tee time and that I should take it up with Golfnow. I have golfed all over the US and this is by far the worst customer service I have ever received, it felt like because they are the only golf option around they can treat you however they want.

Opening day, 38 degrees, clear skies.

The course is in fabulous shape considering the long hard winter. The Greens are slow and still need to fill in some aeration holes. Fairways are green and mowed short. The bunkers are full of sand. Mostly narrow fairways lined with tall pines and a creek type water hazard full of growing willows running throughout the course which makes driving a challenge. If you play golf and visit Big Bear... Bring your clubs and enjoy the golf.

We went late in the afternoon to avoid the heat and it was great. The fairways and greens are in great shape. Be careful selecting your clubs! The ball really flies in the altitude.There was a couple playing pretty slow ahead of us but we were enjoying the scenery and it did not bother us.

Fun mountain course that had several challenges that made it fun.

A bit pricey for a 9 hole or 18, but it was a good experience, nice staff, and good time.

I booked a tee time for 03/30/18. I drove over an hour to play and when I showed the course isn’t open for the season yet. Not sure why golfnow would have tee times listed for a course that is not open. Still waiting to hear back and receive a refund. Not good business!

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon for a reasonable hot deal price. Wish the course was 18 holes. Would have liked to keep playing!

We liked this golf course. However too bad it isn't 18 holes.

Had a great time on this course. Staff was very friendly.We played at 5pm and finished at 6:30. Will play this course many more times in the future!

Great 9 hole course. Played it twice for 18. Greens were perfect as were the fairways. Good shot placement helps a lot. Stunning views.

Just needs some tlc I think & would be great & friendly staff wouldn't hurt anyone

The course is in very poor condition. The green on no. 3 had a tarp covering it and there were gopher holes all over the course. I've played this course when it's had better days.

I spent a lot of time looking around at all the great Mtn views. The course isn't surrounded by a ton of homes. Fast pace of play and wanted to stay all day. The 8th hole was epic. I really liked the pond in front of the Par 3 green. My ball seemed to fly a few yards further, due to the thin air.

Did not expect a fantastic course, but the green was extremely horrible. It was like fairway.
Overall course condition was okay.
If management keeps the greens like this, no recommend this course to play.
One minor thing was cart sign up procedure.
I thought the driving electric cart here is very dangerous, due to either cart itself or course.
Had to take very long to sign up for cart thru computer which is not almost useless.

This is the second time we have showed up only to find out they aerated the greens. Some greens had so much sand you couldn't see the grass. The course should notify golfnow that way the customers have the option to book or not. It was like putting on the beach
