Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club
About
Beacon Ridge Golf and Country Club, a Gene Hamm design on rolling, wooded terrain, opened in 1989. This well-maintained course has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens.
Perhaps what sets Beacon Ridge apart from a number of other courses in the Pinehurst area is its variety. Just about every hole has its own character. The greens are mostly large and sloped. You will find adequate room off the tee, but if you miss the fairway, you’ll end up in deep rough and pine trees and might not find your ball. Play conservative and keep your ball in play.

Beacon Ridge
Unbelievable friendly staff. Great Course. Loved every minute!
Tee boxes, bunkers need some attention, greens were firm, but putted well. Reasonable price, I would have another goat it.
Not Bad, Especially for the price
Was told the course was sold about 3 years ago. Looks like the prior ownership let it go, but new ownership has done a decent job of turning it around. They have new carts, with USB chargers. Greens took the biggest hit and could really use a remodel. Otherwise condition was really nice for the price. Tee to green the course was in good condition. Plays pretty easy, not a long course at all. Greens are a little firm, and well bunkered. All in all, a solid little track for the price range.
Great deal for the $$
First timer @ Beacon Ridge. Sure there could be some $$ thrown at some cart paths but overall very happy w
Experience.
Pace of play from !!!!!!
We play the front in 1.hour 25 minutes with a tee time at 8 am and the back in 3 hours 20 minutes !!!!!!!!
They told us sorry but we have a tournament starting at 8.30 but you should be ok
Why is GolfNow let us book and pay in advance when a tournament is taking place
I do not know who should be blame
Nothing nice to say except never coming back to this poor run golf course
Look like a country club who went down hill and became public but still cannot make it
Interesting very hard
Enjoyed this rugged up and done course. Extremely difficult selecting the right club. Could be 2-3 clubs differential. Got a lot of rain. Greens were extremely slow. I may give it another try in the future
Tricky layout
Lots of fun but very tricky , green locations some are blinds and some are in view
Beacon Ridge Saturday
Nice course and they were so great to get us on early even. This is not a brand new state of the art facility but is challenging and the carts are nice and quick! The staff is awesome! The greens were super dry.
The only bad thing was no ranger and 20+ minutes per hole on the back nine which made for well over 2 hours for that portion of the course. At times there were 3-4 groups on one hole. Of course that was largely due to several large groups that didn’t think they needed to get out of rotation when waiting on their food.
The pro shop says a 4-4.5 hour round is cool with them so it is what it is. I would golf here again for the discounted rate.
Great Value
Great value for the money. Course was in good shape with no waiting on the tee boxes. Played it twice on this trip to Punrhurst.
Fun Round at Beacon Ridge
FirstTime playing Beacon Ridge. Very enjoyable experience. Greens are in great shape. Fairways are just good. Condition to be expected, since we have not gotten very much rain around Pinehurst for the past month or so. Defintely planning on playing the course again. Staff was very friendly, especially Bill in the Pro Shop.
Slow going
Although the course could have been enjoyable, the pace of play was awful. It took five hours to play an 18 hole round. There was no ranger to speed the pace, so we were stuck waiting at every hole for a series of foursomes ahead of us to move along. The fairways were not great, but they were OK. The greens were decent with a true roll (no bounces) when you struck your putt. I would play here again, but they could use a ranger.
Just ok
It was OK. This is a $30 golf course in a fancy neighborhood. Not worth $56
