About
Beacon Ridge Golf and Country Club, a Gene Hamm design on rolling, wooded terrain, opened in 1989. This well-maintained course has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens.
Perhaps what sets Beacon Ridge apart from a number of other courses in the Pinehurst area is its variety. Just about every hole has its own character. The greens are mostly large and sloped. You will find adequate room off the tee, but if you miss the fairway, you’ll end up in deep rough and pine trees and might not find your ball. Play conservative and keep your ball in play.

Experience
My daughter and I played 4 days.. This course was the least expensive, but was in the best condition of the four.
Beautiful layout
All greens are good condition, almost same as Pinehurst series courses, and layout is very beautiful

The Beacon
Seven Lakes is a hidden gem in Eest End just outside Pinehurst. Beacon Ridge is playable for all skill sets. Some long Par 4s to stretch you out. The ridges designed to keep the ball in play as long as you were not too far off line with your tee ball. Greens rolled true and great shots rewarded as witnessed by my Hole in One on 14! A little ride from Raleigh but worth the drive!

Not good
The course was in very poor condition. Some tees more like rough. Fairways and rough indistinguishable. Played this course in the fall and the course wasn’t the best but it was worth another time. Worse condition this time so we won’t be back.

In the week of April 28, 2025, we have aerated some of our tee boxes and fertilized the entire golf course from tee to green. We hope you will give us another visit in the future.
Reasonably Priced Good Course
Last time I played Beacon was August last year. Paid $59 today weekday morning. Golf course is very good for the price. Greens are healthy and rolled true. Fairway, tees, bunkers, and rough are all well maintained. Golf Shop told me they will be improving some of their tee boxes by growing new grass. It is not perfect. But considering other courses in the Sandhills are charging $100+ and $200+, I am very happy.

Unfortunate
This course has all the bones needed to be a great place to play,, not too long for the average play but also somewhat demanding of quality controlled shots ,it has practice facilities but they also could use some TLC. The layout is entertaining without too many shots that seem overly contrived. The course was playable and worth the hot deal price but nothing more. Don’t expect much.
Nice, affordable and fun.
The course is in very fair shape for this time of the year. There are a few trouble spots out there, some wet areas, sandy tee boxes and some poa sneaking in on the greens, still 8.5/10. Greens roll true, fairways give decent lies. Staff is very friendly and all amenities were clean and functional. They do an awful lot with very little here and I’m always surprised how nice the conditions are relative to similar courses in the area. Driving range, putting green and chipping green are also in great condition. A+ golf course for a quiet afternoon round!
Love the place
Love the place. Super friendly staff. Nice course. Greens were fast to be in the off season. Definitely recommend this little hidden gem.
First Time
Great bones to this course, greens were great for the time of year. Tee decks where so so to be expected at the moment. Gentleman in the pro shop from Chicago was great!! We enjoyed our experience.
Good Layout
Very good golf course, but the cart paths need some major work done.
