Beacon Ridge Golf and Country Club, a Gene Hamm design on rolling, wooded terrain, opened in 1989. This well-maintained course has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens.
Perhaps what sets Beacon Ridge apart from a number of other courses in the Pinehurst area is its variety. Just about every hole has its own character. The greens are mostly large and sloped. You will find adequate room off the tee, but if you miss the fairway, you’ll end up in deep rough and pine trees and might not find your ball. Play conservative and keep your ball in play.

Great bones to this course, greens were great for the time of year. Tee decks where so so to be expected at the moment. Gentleman in the pro shop from Chicago was great!! We enjoyed our experience.

Just Golf; No Amenities
Played a nice round of golf and we were just a twosome. It was nice that the front desk let us start on the back nine and had a 3 1/2 hour round. The disappointment continues to be no restaurant or bar and after three years of hearing that it will open next month have finally not renewed my membership.

If you want a decent layout that's inexpensive, its fine. Greens were slow but ok shape. Don't expect raked traps or filled in divots.
