Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club

About
Beacon Ridge Golf and Country Club, a Gene Hamm design on rolling, wooded terrain, opened in 1989. This well-maintained course has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens.
Perhaps what sets Beacon Ridge apart from a number of other courses in the Pinehurst area is its variety. Just about every hole has its own character. The greens are mostly large and sloped. You will find adequate room off the tee, but if you miss the fairway, you’ll end up in deep rough and pine trees and might not find your ball. Play conservative and keep your ball in play.

Fire ants
From first putting my clubs down at practice range , to quite a few holes I was bitten 4x by fire ants.
Thought the course was nice, wide open fairways , decent greens but the amount of fire ants make it a no for me. If you arent looking down at every step you take you are in for a real treat 😞
The value was great , cart nice , looks like it could be a good course.
Hidden Gem
I had an amazing experience at Beacon Ridge Golf & Country Club in North Carolina! The course is beautifully maintained, with lush fairways and well-manicured greens that provide a challenging yet enjoyable round for players of all skill levels. The layout offers a great variety of holes, blending wide open spaces with tighter, more technical areas, making it perfect for golfers who enjoy strategic play.
The staff was friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived, and the pace of play was perfect, allowing us to enjoy the course without feeling rushed. The scenic views of the surrounding nature added to the charm, making it a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Beacon Ridge is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back for sure!
Beacon Ridge
Needs new ownership willing to spend money on upgrades. Not close in current condition in competing with higher standard in the area. Good value for getting a round in but thats it.
Saturday morning Golf
Several fairways were muddy for rain 3 days ago, cart paths were horrible but greens were excellent. Once arrived to check in we were offered a small bucket of range balls or a beverage. Overall not a bad course to play for the money. I will return
Beautiful Course
Me and a friend played 18 holes at noon on a Saturday and man we were shocked at how nice this place was based on reviews. The greens and fairways were beautiful, couldn't gauge the bunkers really cause it rained a lot the day before. The staff were super friendly. Ignore all the negative reviews. I guess they changed owners or something because this place is spectacular! We'll be back very soon.
Little challenging
Fairways are narrow and greens are slllloooooowwww. It’s in a gated community so be ready to swing by the guard gate. Showed up an hour early to hit the range. Pro shop said I could take off once I finished in the range since it was a slow day. Everything is green and the fairways are thick just to keep them from burning from the heat. Most of the tee box are good a few are rock hard so putting a tee down becomes a challenge. Played solo in under 3 hours. Course favor someone that plays straight of a slight fade. People with a draw will struggle in a lot of holes.
Good course
I enjoyed my round here a lot. Played here on a Monday and never saw another person except the person who checked me in. Tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunkers. And greens were all good. I was really happy with the price for the round in conjunction with the quality of the course.
3 hour 25 minute round by myself was a great afternoon all in all.
The course is excellent but has fallen into disrepair
The clubhouse is closed except for the pro shop. The course needs a mow and weeds are sprouting up in the fairway.
The course was quite empty, that was nice.
Very sad for such a great course
Nice Layout
This course is a very nice layout BUT the maintenance is lacking. It is early April so the fairways grass is still dormant but unfortunately there was way too much of the fairways without any grass, just sand. On some of the fairways the roots from the trees have grown into the playing area, so attempting to hit the ball becomes dangerous.
The greens were a little slow, but that should be expected for early spring,
The sand traps could use some TLC, since there are 64 of them on the course.
Tee boxes could use some levelling and overseeing, but not that bad.
The course has great elevation changes with water in play on some of the holes. It is lined with houses, but they are well out of play.
The golf carts were electric and new, but no GPS. We did not enter the clubhouse, but it appeared to be closed.
We only played $40 thru GolfNow, so it was worth the money. If you don’t pay much, don’t expect much.
