About
Beacon Ridge Golf and Country Club, a Gene Hamm design on rolling, wooded terrain, opened in 1989. This well-maintained course has bermudagrass fairways and bentgrass greens.
Perhaps what sets Beacon Ridge apart from a number of other courses in the Pinehurst area is its variety. Just about every hole has its own character. The greens are mostly large and sloped. You will find adequate room off the tee, but if you miss the fairway, you’ll end up in deep rough and pine trees and might not find your ball. Play conservative and keep your ball in play.

Great course
As always challenging course, layout, and very tough greens! Great customer service also! We will return!
Good Reasonably Priced Golf Course
It’s not a resort, and I didn’t pay a resort price. $49 on a weekday is very reasonable for this nice public course. Chatted with a few members and they said this course improved a lot this year. I will come back.
Fairways and bunkers need attention.
It was a fun course to play. Small greens and tree lined fairways made accuracy a necessity. Better fairways would aid in that. The bunkers where really. Barren of sand. Hard to play out of. The price made it worth the play.
Nice surprise!
I started playing Beacon Ridge regularly 6+ months ago. The course was in rough shape (fairways were patchy, bunkers below average , and the greens were just “ok”). Within the the last month or so the course has undergone a dramatic change. The fairways are smooth and don’t have tufts of weeds growing everywhere. The greens are truly wonderful and roll very nicely. The bunkers could still use some work (more sand without pebbles mixed in), but overall, the course is great! The layout is very nice and definitely a challenge. Highly recommend this track.
Needs work
Although course has improved slightly it needs a lot of tlc.
Good Course, Great Value
We played the course for an event and then came back on our own. The course is very good. The greens roll true and the fairways are thick. For the price we paid it was a great value, especially considering other good Sandhills courses charges you $100+. Recommend

I’ve been playing this course for a while and I’ve never seen it in this good of shape before. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. Hope it lasts…
Greens look like fairways
Not sure what these greenskeepers here are doing but putting on these greens is the worst. Doesn’t look like they ever mow them from what I saw. Will not be returning to this course.
New golfer.
The staff was very friendly and worked with us on our tee times. The pro shop was good. Definitely enough for any last minute needs. The only downside was that it didn’t have a restaurant or bar. If there was it wasn’t advertised.
Plays nice
First time in this course. Looks like they have been working hard to get greens & fairways in shape. A few tee boxes need some attention but overall great course. Cart paths could use some love but that doesn’t change the course for me. I will be back again.
Excellent Course Layout
Conditions have greatly improved. Fairways and bunkers were very good! Some greens were recently aerated and sanded.
