Could be GREAT
Course is really dry. Traps were in decent shape ....absent of rocks and most weeds. Yeah, I played out of more than one! Tee boxes are mostly sand, fairways are HARD.....leave any club with a flange out of the bag. Generally we had a good
time playing this course and hope they're able to get it into good shape because the layout is fun and challenging. Lots of uneven lies, doglegs left and right, elevated tees and greens. Look forward to another visit.
Underwhelming
The course conditions really left a lot to be desired. Greens were spotty, fairways were just sand, tee boxes were a flat mound of sand, most everything was meant to be grass was mostly sand. It feels like they just need to water everything. The course layout was also not my favorite. A lot of blind shots that if you haven’t played there before, you were just praying. Better courses around for the same price or cheaper. Nice people but no range. Paid about $50 a round on Saturday.
Worth the visit
Great value. Fun layout. Very friendly staff from the pro shop to the the maintenance folks. Couple of tricky holes. Will play it again!
Threw me in a tail spin Haven’t played there in a while the holes are reversed very nice loved every minute of the round
Improvements are showing
Not sure if someone made the Superintendent mad, but those greens are rolling pretty quick! Nice change. Grass just about everywhere we hit, but tee boxes are in need of some love, not Love Grass though.
Diamond in the rough
Played 18 holes this afternoon and can definitely tell they have been working on the course to make it better. New sand going into bunkers and greens looked good. Will definitely be back.
Course Needs Work
While the course is interesting, tight fairways with small greens, the course is just not kept up. The owners need to invest money into the course to bring it up to acceptable standards. This can be done with the fees collected, but that does not seems to be happening. I would avoid this course as there are any others that can be played.
Needs TLC
You can tell that in its prime this was more than likely a phenomenal course to play. The course conditions are horrible! The conditions were not because of today’s weather or previous days weather. The course is just not maintained and taken care of.
I really did enjoy the course layout. If the conditions were comparable to most others in the area, my experience would have been really fun, challenging and appreciated.
I really would like to see an effort to get the course up to the golf course area standards. If it were, I could see it being one of my favorites that I have played in the Pinehurst area.
The woods
Under new ownership and it’s gonna be an amazing place sometime soon. Excellent hospitality !!!
Can see where they are working hard to improve the coarse and it’s a great value for the area. Restaurant at the club house is outstanding !!!
Woods golf
Nice course that is under new ownership. Greens need a little work but overall the course is in pretty good shape.
I will be back.
