The 18-hole Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dan & Ellis Maples, Whispering Woods Golf Club measures 6324 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 70.8 USGA rating.

The semi-private course offers challenges to both the intermediate as well as the accomplished player. The course rambles over undulating terrain which is carefully maintained by the caring staff. The greens are known for their conditioning and the course is a favorite for annual returning golfers. This is a track with alot of character.

Good for price, would play again if conditions were better

Great pace of play, not many groups ahead or behind.

Greens need a lot of work, some were awful to putt on, couldn't putt at all on some of them but for the price I paid with the "hot deal" on golfnow, I couldn't beat it.

Great layout, but needs better care throughout, I hate seeing courses like this go to waste. Especially in the Pinehurst area.

Really great fun as course was not overrun with people. No waiting on groups ahead or being pushed by people behind! Love that! And very reasonable price. Fun time!

Very interesting course

We are here from Switzerland on golf vacation and played the course for the first time. We were totally thrilled with the layout! Also, although it rained very hard during the night, the course was in very good condition. Price performance is excellent! Very nice staff. We like to come back!

Nice Layout

Strength is layout - - built into the beautiful trees of Pinehurst area, N.C. Some holes were stunning! Some holes were unique with blind shots and holes requiring precise shots around lurking trouble.

Friendly staff who were excellent.

Course condition was OK but not quite as good as I expected. Greens were very good; tees OK; fairways OK .

This course always looks great and plays like nobody’s business. You get a scenic view while the course challenges your game skills. The 19th Hole has delicious food and the pizza is magnificent!

Always a pleasurable outing , still early season fairways ...moved along great on front nine and it started backing up until we had four groups on 18 ...still around in 3 hours 20 minutes ..so good pace for Sunday afternoon
