The 18-hole Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dan & Ellis Maples, Whispering Woods Golf Club measures 6324 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 70.8 USGA rating.
The semi-private course offers challenges to both the intermediate as well as the accomplished player. The course rambles over undulating terrain which is carefully maintained by the caring staff. The greens are known for their conditioning and the course is a favorite for annual returning golfers. This is a track with alot of character.

NIce layout
I played this course many times over the past 10 years but it had fallen into disrepair a few years ago. This time it was much improved and the conditions were much better than in the past. Also the restaurant and carts were nice and the personel in the proshop were very accommodating . We played in a little over 3 hours with no holdups. We will play again soon.
Fun track
Opening holes are a little quirky, but when you get to hole 4 its a whole new world. Course was a lot of fun, and I would definitely go back.
Coming Along
I must give the new owners credit for really putting an effort into getting this course back in shape. they actually rake the bunkers nd the greens are perfect. For $32 bucks great value. and a fun course to play!
whispering woods
for the time of year in early February i did not expect much. no driving range which really stinks. the course was very soggy. Greens were in good shape but there were some that had issues. bunkers were flooded as well. i’m sure it plays better in the summer but right now it had some issues.

Enjoyable course for money
Overall this course is well maintained and well designed for money. I would recommend one to play this course as a warm up before you play expensive other pinehust course.
Awesome Greens!!
This might be the best deal for golf in the Pinehurst area. The staff is friendly, the course was in great condition and the greens were like glass. I cant wait to go back and see it when it warms up and all is green again.

Great improvement
Last played here about 10 years ago. The new management have made some marked improvements which make this course a delight to play. Well done.
Great course. Greens were firm and putted great. Ball position on the green is key, if you get above the hole will be hard to stop on some greens. We’ll kept. Great value, will play here again.
