Sand Hills NC Spring golf
The course was in good condition for early March. Lots of elevation changes which were playable. Sand traps were groomed, but like concrete. The course played 90 degree rule the day we played. Mid Atlantic states received quite a bit of rain in the previous days. Overall a good track I'd like to play in better weather and conditions.
Love Whispering Woods!
Been coming down to NC from Michigan
for many years my wife has family here
Pembroke and Pinehurst!
I’m a golfer so I’m golfing the is big.
Great time. Little wet but that’s all and I’ll be back when it definitely
Nice greens, beautiful layout.
We loved the layout, beautiful course. Greens were in great shape, rolled true and fast. The fairways were in winter shape but didn't affect our play. Great course for the price. If you're expecting conditions of higher end courses that charge MUCH more, then you might not be happy. Would highly recommend to the average golfer. The restaurant offers nice options.
March 4 2024
T boxes were the big issue. Not very good.
Other issue was it was very soggy around most of the greens. If approach shot landed just short it would most likely plug.
Greens were good and very difficult and fast.
Coarse will get better over the next few weeks and I'm sure will be in perfect shape for the high season.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely play again.
Nice Challenge
Enjoyed the course and it's challenges. Greens were great but tough. Fairways okay, tee boxes a bit beat up. Everything else was excellent!
Great course layout and it is a nice easy challenging course for sure with the tight fairways to the sloping greens. For how much rain we have had this month the course was in great condition and super dry out there. Definitely will be back again, love golfing in southern pines!!
Nice course
Just like any course in the winter time, the greens are hit or miss. A few greens were hairy than others were, but for the most part, great course, and well kept.
Very Nice.
Course is great. Fairways well maintained. Greens are very challenging. Bunkers could use work, but this a very good course at a very reasonable price.
Wouldn't play again
Granted the time of year was not ideal but the weather was fair. The overall condition of the course was poorly maintained. Everything was mowed the same height and the greens were so hard that with even the slightest slope to them your ball would roll right off the green. they looked they were rolled with the heaviest roller you could find. Collars were non existent because as I said before every inch of the course was mowed the exact same height including the tees. The only saving grace was the staff.
Canadians Heading North in November
We are new to golf and thoroughly enjoyed this course's challenges and the staff were the best.
