The 18-hole Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dan & Ellis Maples, Whispering Woods Golf Club measures 6324 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 70.8 USGA rating.
The semi-private course offers challenges to both the intermediate as well as the accomplished player. The course rambles over undulating terrain which is carefully maintained by the caring staff. The greens are known for their conditioning and the course is a favorite for annual returning golfers. This is a track with alot of character.

Played here many times
Through the years and I don't get tired of it. The rolling layout and hole shapes ensure no two holes play the same. Severe slopes on the first four greens test your pace control as do several other greens. Conditions were pretty good considering the recent heat wave although a few greens were showing signs of stress, but still very playable. For golf in this area this is a good value.
Good course great value
Course was in good shape some rough areas due to recent heavy flooding rains but completely playable. Staff was friendly and helpful
Really enjoy this course
Excellent pace of play. Very enjoyable layout. Challenging, but fair. Good greens. Super pace of play. 18 in 3 1/2 hrs. Can’t beat that! Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Other 4 star courses in the area BLOW this course and its condition AWAY. GOLF NOW NEEDS TO HAVE MORE OF ITS RANKING TO BE ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE INSTEAD OF THE FACILITY AND FRIENDLINESS OF STAFF. IM JUST SAYING !
Played here many times
Course is in better overall condition than normal but the greens were a bit slow, but still good. Several trees have been cut down since last time most notably the large pine on the right side of #5 which framed the tee shot perfectly with the smaller ones on the left.
Whispering Woods- Needs work
Tee boxes had not been mowed. Greens were in poor/fair shape.
Course layout was not bad and had some challenging holes, but for the area, they need to keep it in better shape.
As Expected
Had not played here since moving to the area approximately 4 years ago. Went off the back, which is the easier to the two nines. Front nine, had obviously been punched recently. An intriguing layout, that could be much better with some growth, and green rolling.
First time playing there, will go there again!!
Pace of play was great .! Course got 2 inches of rain the night before witch made goin for the pin a solid option. The bar was a friendly atmosphere.
