Needs work
The greens were dead or dying on every hole. Several had fairway grass growing on the green disrupting putting dramatically.
Great Value
Had a couple bumpy greens with sod on the edges. Other than that I had a great time especially for the price. I’ll be back
Course Conditions
Course conditions were ok. Several greens were in less than moderate shape and a few tee boxes needed some growth.
Newbie
I'm new to the game. Great course ! Will definitely go back!
Greens make the course
2 star rating is mostly because of poor greens. Strange sideways slope and did not roll true.
What a Shame!
This is a wonderful Ellis Maples design that has been badly mistreated. The greens have been painted to hide the fact that they don’t really have any real grass on them to speak of. Fairways are ok. The bunkers don’t even have rakes, for goodness sake. I guess ya get what you pay for. With a little TLC and a moderate amount of cash, this beautiful course could be rejuvenated and would be a real gem. Too bad ownership either doesn’t have the money or doesn’t care.
Enjoyable round
We played here and had no one in front to wait on nor no one behind so optimal conditions to concentrate on game! Enjoyed the round
Decent
They do well with what they have. A few greens in bad shape. Amazing staff. Overpriced drinks and food in restaurant imo.
Good for price, would play again if conditions were better
Great pace of play, not many groups ahead or behind.
Greens need a lot of work, some were awful to putt on, couldn't putt at all on some of them but for the price I paid with the "hot deal" on golfnow, I couldn't beat it.
Great layout, but needs better care throughout, I hate seeing courses like this go to waste. Especially in the Pinehurst area.
Great fun round
Really great fun as course was not overrun with people. No waiting on groups ahead or being pushed by people behind! Love that! And very reasonable price. Fun time!
Has great potential
Course has great potential just needs staff to facilitate the course needs.
Very interesting course
We are here from Switzerland on golf vacation and played the course for the first time. We were totally thrilled with the layout! Also, although it rained very hard during the night, the course was in very good condition. Price performance is excellent! Very nice staff. We like to come back!
Very Nice Coirse
Somewhat challenging.. Pretty good shape. Will play it again soon.
Thank you for your review, I would like to clarify some of your concerns.
The greens are painted when the Bermuda Grass goes Dormant after the first frost in the fall. You are correct, the greens are thin because of the ground not reaching 60 degrees for growth. Yes, we do not have rakes in the bunkers because they are considered WASTE BUNKERS. At the 2021 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, they declared all their bunkers WASTE BUNKERS because it is more favorable to the player.
Thank you
