Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Going, Going, GONE downhill
They have let this course down totally - terrible fairways, bumpy greens - played off dirt in the fairways quite a bit, and the sand traps were not very "sandy." This used to be a fun course years ago, but now it is a terrible course for $34 fees and $12 for a cart. Maybe if they charged $15 to play and $5 for a cart - then I would say "great value, because it is super cheap!" Will not be returning again.....
Great Location
Sleeper golf course that needs attention. It is in a great setting really hoping this course doesn't go away and gets the attention it needs and deserves.
All in all, a good day of golf
Three negatives today. Pace of play was brutally slow. Waited on just about every hole. Felt like the old days when one had to wait on weekend rounds behind people who didn't really understand etiquette. It could have been that the course was full.
The tee boxes were a mess. It was difficult to find a tee box that wasn't really chewed up, although I didn't have trouble finding an even spot from which to hit.
I was really hoping that the course had fired up the smoker and was back barbecuing again, but alas. The food cart girls were out and about in a way that was really worked, but the food was prepackaged and bland. We got polish sausages at the stand by the pro shop, and those were good.
Going Down Hill Fast
I'm not sure if the property is being sold or turned over. A great track in the past has turned into a goat farm. The only 2 people at the front desk were teenagers. They tried their best i'm sure. There is no starter and no one ensures that the group teeing off is actually the group that should be there. I had a 3:30 tee time. When I headed over to the 1st tee, there were 2 groups already there. The 2nd group to tee off was the 3:37 time, so in front of my 3:30 tee time. There were 2 singles that were just sent to the 1st tee, to join in wherever. We made a group of 3 and tee'd off at 3:45. The guys behind us were also in the 3:30 time, but had to wait for us to go. It's very confusing out there. This was a twilight rate, so i can't complain about paying full price to deal with this. It's just not a good experience here anymore.
It Could Be Really Nice
Our 3-some played Camarillo Springs today. The track has the bones to be a really nice course. However, the entire property looks like your neighbor's rental property which has been abused, forgotten, and is entering foreclosure. The golf carts look and drive like they are used for a demolition derby and it's difficult to identify the difference between the fairways and the rough.. if you decide to play here, you'll get excited if your tee shot lands on a piece of grass or a weed (at least the weeds are green).
Too bad
This was once a great course but now with the possibly of adding homes, it clear they have let it totally go. Don't even think about using the bathrooms. Terrible!
Course is fun but conditions are bad.
Camarillo springs has a cool set up. Some of the holes are really fun to play. The conditions are quite terrible and that would be bearable BUT, the pace of play is by far the worst on any course I have ever played.
The course has made some bad decisions, tee times are listed every 6 minutes or so but each time I play here, the starter is launching off the next group the moment the group ahead is past the bunker on the left side of fairway on hole 1.
This would be okay if people that played the course were decent and understood POP, but they don't. The only reason people still play here is because you can book without pre-payment and book up to two weeks in advance. That system makes them elite in today's COVID world where most places can only book 1 week in advance and often make you pre-pay.
Overall if you don't mind playing on dirt and waiting every shot for 5.5 hours then this is the place to go.
Best value there is
Greens are great. Fairways are getting there. Pace of play was a little slow. Can’t beat the price
Best value around
Greens are in great shape. Fairways are coming around. Pace of play was a little slow. But $45 with a cart is hard to beat.
So slow....
5.5 hr. round, painful....Maybe weekdays are better
In crap shape
I think the folks who run this course believe that water is bad for their course. Calling this place a cow pasture would be complimentary. The folks being the counter are nice. I played for $13.00 and feel like I overpaid by $20.00.
