Camarillo Springs Golf Course

It had been several years since I last played this course, but I always enjoyed the unique diversity of the layout. It is almost like 3 unique courses in 1 where you travel over into a separate isolated valley with 5 fun holes. The lakes in this valley were dry which added to the course play allowing you to hit out of water hazards which were 10 feet deep with a gradual slope around to drive your cart into. From here you transition across to another separate area which is very park like with 3 fun holes. At this point you hit a couple easy very short par 3 holes and move on to the front end of the course which had many water hazards in a marsh like environment filled with a diversity of bird life to enjoy. Several homes are on the outer fringe in an almost venetian style canal as you finish the course. Some of the course was a little beat up and confusing to follow, but for the price I think its easy to forgive. I am already looking forward to playing it again soon.

It took over 5 hours just to play 12 holes before darkness. Had to wait 30 minutes or more on most of the 12 holes played. Worst round ever

Started late, waited 5 minutes before every shot. Greens were ok, slow, but in decent shape.

This course was reasonably priced and the staff is great. However it’s in rough shape, the tee boxes are terrible, many times we found ourselves hitting off sand, and the greens and fairways aren’t much better.

Terrible condition, cost is insane for how bad this course is maintained! How can you charge that much knowing full well you have let the majority of this course got to waste. I fully understand that grass is going dormant this time of year, however your tee boxes look like a child used it as a sand box. Have you ever heard of a level? Please save you money and just go for a walk instead of play at this trash course.

The course has great potential but it’s been left to go to ruins. Large areas with no grass at all; scrubby and uneven tee boxes, trash piled up in the channel across the 18th... greens are alright, doesn’t seem like a lot of folks bother with repairing pitch marks any more. Fine if you’re looking for a hacking ground, but more serious players are just in for a frustrating day.

I was told if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.

The Springs has a few issues with burned out fairways but you really cannot beat the layout of this course. Ultimately you need every shot and solid putting to post a good score but it is the kind of course that gets in your head and you want to play it again and again. Which we do! My girlfriend and I have played it 25 times and 24 times we were paired up with terrific people. Enjoy this one while we still can!

There are no fairways at all. Just mud and weeds. Greens were not bad. No starter and while there were marshals n curse not useful as we waited on EVERY hole.

Played for the first time here today, and it was a fun design. (I loved holes 2-6 especially) The greens were in good shape, as well as the rough around the greens. Fairways were okay in most spots, but they definitely need some love. Overall, it was a fun course and I would play here again but it would not be my first choice.
