Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

What happened?
The tea boxes throughout the entire course were in horrible shape and we’re full of sand. When I hit balls into the fairway it was crappy grass and a lot of dirt. The greens were slow. The sand was like hitting off of cement. I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone.
A Goat Track Defined
I've been playing this course for 25 years. It has had its ups and downs over the years but this has gotten embarrassing. I played it about 9 years ago and it was in decent shape. What I saw Saturday was simply shocking. Isn't the superintendent embarrassed to have his name attached to this course? I would be. Almost NO grass on the fairways and the bunkers were pretty much concrete. They should have payed me to play it.
The pace was dreadful. We waited on every hole except the first tee. The par 3's typically had two groups waiting in front of us. It was awful. The only highlight was the lady who drove the beverage cart.
The restrooms were even more disgusting than the condition of the course. It stunk and looked like a Bakersfield truck stop bathroom. Does anyone but the cart lady take pride in their job at this place?
Overall I would skip it. I'd honestly rather not play golf than play this garbage can of a course. Lost me forever GSGC...
Course is in poor shape
The layout is good and the surroundings are beautiful. Most of the “springs” of the course are dried out and the fairways are dry and dusty with few having lush grass. New trees have been planted on some holes like two and five but make no sense and do not add to the quality of the holes. This course has high potential but sadly, hasn’t lived up to it for many years now,
Could be great
Staff are very good
Course layout is pretty good
Conditions could be better. Not bad not good. They stopped investing and to some extent maintaining this course 5 years ago or so. And it shows Too bad with investment it could return to its past goodness. For now it’s convenient near home good wether fair prive
The pace was extremely slow. long waiting time than playing time. Many times you see 3-4 groups in one hole.
Blown Balls!
It was a lot of fun in 40+ mph winds. We always enjoy 'silly' rounds like this. Over 275 yard drives and under 150 yard drives depending on which way we were going. The ball was getting blown all over the place.
Course needs to be taken care of a little better; more water for the grass, snack bar closed due to COVID
Camarillo Springs
I haven’t golfed here in over 10 years and I remember why. First it’s a beautiful lay-out and area. The tee boxes were rutty, uneven and in some spots no grass to hit from, grade 4. The fairways are patchy with lots of dirt and dead areas with multiple types of what they call grass growing. Grade 4. The greens were bumpy, lumpy and dumpy. Grade 3. Overall a 4 and I can see why there is always tee times available. The grounds keeper isn’t very good or the owners of the course aren’t putting any money into it. It’s a shame as it could be a really nice course if they just maintained it.
G golf
The front 9 was pretty amazing really quiet Nice scenic view of mountains but once you get to the back 9 it was like a completely different course. And I don’t mean that in a good way the back 9 Wasn’t properly kept well and wasn’t enjoyable.
Steady decline
Rude pro shop staff. No control or announcing of tee queue; a mess with people standing around trying to figure out the proper order of play.
Tee boxes in horrible shape. Greens were soft and bumpy. Sand traps like concrete.
Declining Conditions GREEDY ownership
IT has been in decline for years. The prettty pictures with the lakes are misleading. most of those lakes have been dry for 5+ years now. Weather is always good there. T boxes are good, fairways are pretty bad. Greens still ok. Real issue since return from covid is the cost to play has gone up. like all courses they are making money back with higher green and cart fees. Howeve at Cam springs they have gong down to 7 minute spacing between groups. If you play on friday/sat/sun count on 5+ hours. 7 minutes is to tight, the course cant handle being that packed and there are a lot of senior and rookie golfers on this cours. Staff is friendly. they have big plans to overhaul the property but likely because of that NO money has been put back into this course for a LONG time.. its too bad
