Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

In poor shape
For summer it was a cool breezy day. Fairways and rough bad condition, lots of dead spots, mix of crabgrass and fairway grass. Greens bumpy, okay on pace. Best to play winter rules on course otherwise a lot of divots, holes, and bad areas to hit where there shouldn’t be any. Bunkers were messy. I played because weather was good and tee times easy to get today. But i moved my ball out of areas that would normally be ground under repair because of dead, dirt or dry spots. Typical for this course lately but if you want to learn how to scramble out of bad lies, this is the place. It was okay but other courses in better shape.
Horrible course
Waayyyy more expensive than it should be. One of the public courses I expect to pay under $20 for. Pace of play was the worst I’ve ever seen. 1/10
Unkept
This is my local course and I like playing it, but the course is not being attended to like it has in the past. Also the weekend rate of $57 with cart is just way too much for this course.
Best value around
Fairways are in okay shape. Greens are great. Pace of play was pretty fast.
Most Improved
The Course is in the best shape I’ve seen in the last couple years... I went twice this week because it’s been the best I’ve seen in a while. The course has a great balance of challenging holes and friendly holes. Greens are in great shape too.
Good Greens, not good anything else
The greens were well maintained, albeit a little slow, but at least were interesting. The tee boxes, fairways, and roughs have seen better days. Also, holes 2-6 must be too close to a dump or something very smelly.
Overgrown tee boxes and dead fairways
If you want to lose faith in golf, play here. They don’t like mowing the tee boxes or watering their fairways. Their greens are in fair condition, but the problem is getting to them. Holes 4-7 smell like feces. Will never go back.
Dead grass and overgrown tee boxes
Overgrown tee boxes and dead grass everywhere. If you’re going to spend $45 to golf, pick any other course in Ventura or LA. Good luck Camarillo Springs! Really hope that remodel happens.
Decent course
The starting holes were great, a couple of the finishing holes were pretty good. 9-12 weren't very good. Just felt like makeshift holes in peoples' backyards.
Overall I enjoyed the views, the landscapes, etc. so it was a pleasant experience
Gone to Seed
Very interesting layout with lots of variety to the holes, however conditions are very poor. Greens are good, tee boxes a disaster, fairways not much better.
5 hour round on Sunday morning, too many twosomes and fivesomes on the course.
Dissapointed for the cost, plus the additional per rider $12 makes it not a great value.
Nice Track in medium good public shape
I hesitate to write this because I don't want it to be crowded but Camarillo Springs is the current sweet spot in my area for a good enough course at a good enough price. With the pandemic many of my usual haunts are too pricey or too crowded or both. I've ended up here. It's a nice layout - 16 good holes + 2 boring par 3s. Not in the greatest shape but good enough around the greens and down the fairways to not drive you nuts. Pleasant environment with the coastal weather and sort of marshy, farm field adjacent atmosphere. Wind plays a big part in your strategy. The course has struggled in recent years, but with current level of play they are watering and things are "good enough." The rough is Kikayou - when watered the same as Riviera country club. You have to develop a strategy for getting out of it - not necessarily grabbing the sand wedge like most courses. I enjoy playing here, often in under 4 hours for 18, walking.
