Nice condition, good pace of play.
fist time in a long while to play here. Great starter Bob, gave us the lowdown of the course. will return, with my company league this wednesday.
Rough Track
I guess you get what you pay for here. Course is in very rough shape in regard to both the esthetics and terrain.
About 8 holes that are basically the same set-up from tee to green I thought. Greens were bumpy, cart paths (where there were any) were bumpier and the maintenance staff seemed unaware of the patrons while they cut grass, etc.
Fun course if you've got nowhere to be and about 12 cold beer (per golfer).
Course improvements
This golf course is in the best condition ever. They are putting money back into it to make it even better.
Good for about $10 less
No bunkers anywhere on the course, several areas that always seem to be extremely wet (including the lay up area on the par 5 hole 9), and tee boxes are generally in disrepair. The greens are very well maintained and there are some fun/challenging holes, but for $30 I would much rather play Centennial in Oak Ridge. If you are looking for the cheap/easy course, you would be better off playing at Whittle Springs for $22.
Everything was in good shape.
The greens were very smooth, fairways were in good shape, and the staff was nore than helpful. Good course and priced just right.
Easy access from Knoxville area.
This course provides moderate difficulty for all levels of handicappers depending on the tee boxes. There are some bare spots here and there that require patch works. Still reasonable compared to its price and location.
This course needs management.
The course was holding a tournament on the day I played. This was not mentioned when booking the tee time. When I arrived there were 4 foursomes lined up on the first tee. Needless to say, I didn't tee off for at least 30 minutes after my scheduled tee time. The play was extremely slow all day.
If you are going to have a tournament, don't post tee times on GolfNow as if you actually have room!!!
The course has been going thru renovation for at least 3 years but never seems to finish. Mounds of earth on several holes.
Under Construction
This course looks good, but the whole course is under construction the cart paths are very poor. The last 2 times I have been they don't have enough carts for everyone. I booked my tee time 3 days early for 11am. When I got there we had to wait till 12:30pm just to get a cart. The staff is friendly but they have poor managing skills. Our cart died on the 17th hole and we had to push it all the way back to the club house. Don't go here. There is heavy machinery (i.e. dump trucks and dossers) on the 9th fairway. When I complained they were very quick to give me a free tee time, however, they still charge 32.50 per player to play in these horrible conditions!
Ground under repair
At this point of the year, construction on the course, overall shape, I would recommend finding another course of the $32 it cost.
not worth the money
no driving range to warm up. you need a 4x4 golfcart to drive on the cart path! large amounts of standing water and course is under construction. however, still charging regular rates to play.
Beautiful Greens
First time I played this course, but will go back for sure. Fairways and rough weren't in great shape but its cold and its November. Greens were lush and green! True roll and got some good spin on the greens as well. Staff was awesome!
nice course to be a municipal.
when I played on this course the staff were pushing me and my group along making us speed up so we didnt get to enjoy our time there making it the first and last time i will ever play there.
Feel-good little course
It's "just a muni", but is a lot of fun. hit the bermuda fairways, and you can really score. greens are soft and receptive. staff is very friendly. on weekday afternoons, you can fly around this course in 3 hours. inexpensive, and if you think you'll play here more than occasionally, there are deals available.
Knoxville Municipal Golf Course
Even though greens had been aerified 10-12 days prior to my round, they were still decent. This is a fun course unless you're having a bad day off of the tees, but playing from the fairways, you can score on this course.
