Sleepy Hollow Golf Course
About
Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is the top municipal course in the state and it is also ranked as one of the top 20 in the nation. Overlooking the Cuyahoga River Valley, the course is known for its scenery almost as much as its challenging layout. It has a traditional design with a classic "out-and-in" routing, with the incoming holes playing uphill into the wind, making them seem much longer than the indicated yardage. Golfers might be taken aback by the punishing nature of the golf course. There are 58 bunkers strategically placed around the tough greens, which comprise the main challenges of the course. Get ready to be quickly introduced to the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course's formidability with the lengthy second hole, a par 3 that will test even the longest hitters.

Great Course on Weekdays!
Sleepy is a great public course, and it is in great condition these days. It is a challenging track that I enjoy playing but I'd just suggest to play it during the weekdays or very early on the weekends because the pace on most weekends is less then ideal.
Tough Greens
Course was in great shape and and greens were tough with pin placement almost unfair to score well. Pace of play was slow(5+ hr. Round) as frost delayed play. Love the course and it was a beautiful fall day. I’ll be back.
Like a Cleveland Metroparks courses, Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is scenic and well maintained. The course is rolling with a few very challenging holes. The fall foliage made a picturesque back drop for a beautiful course. The pace of play was about average. I play fast so had to wait a little but not terrible. Several of the holes greens were very close to the next tee box which made for an interesting situation. The greed are fast and challenging. On a couple occasions I watched as my ball rolled 20-30 feet back down the slope. Overall, a nice course I would play again
Sleepy Hollow ---Awesome Course
This day was just awesome @ Sleepy Hollow: great Hot Deal from GN, 2nd group out & 3hr round. Greens had been plugged, but still didn't slow down putts from above the cup. Tree foillage is colorful & course has spectacular views. I only play Sleepy Hollow once a year, and it sure plays a lot longer (than when I was in 29s & 30s), but always a treat to play. The main tip I can offer is keep the ball below the cup. I can't wait for my rematch against Sleepy Hollow.
Perfect day
Headed out early, and It was about 45 degrees when teeing off, finished at about 70.
While the place is notorious for not-so-friendly starters, I was greeted nicely.
The pace was nice, got done in 3:40.
The greens were, despite being wet with dew, still very fast. Sleepy has some of the most baffling greens in NE Ohio I’m a decent putter, and was grateful to escape with a 2 putt on most holes.
I do recommend the course, and I hope you get a friendly starter!
Layout is the best in Ohio
Everything was and alway great here , “best public course in Ohio , but since they arrogate the green it’s been horrible on the green , hope the green get back to it normal icy shape ... love and always have this course ..
Great course and a great challenge!
The course was in immaculate condition and provides a challenge to even the most advanced golfer. Stay below the pin!
Tough course
Really tough course. Not crazy long but the greens are tough, tons of sand traps.
Nice round
Excellent conditions. Pin locations were tough and greens were quick, nice work. Would be 5 stars if the pace of play was better, very slow but expected on a Sunday. Tee time 9 am, 5 hours to play 18.
Great round!!!
This is one of the most picturesque courses I’ve played. The starter gave us some local knowledge, which was huge. Hooked up with 3 other singles and had a blast. Outside of the rain, it was a great round of golf! The course was in great shape.
Grumpy Staff
What is it with the Metroparks courses and grumpy staff? The guy in the pro shop look oh-so-thrilled to be there. And then when dropping off the cart, the cart attendant started hosing off the cart before we even had a chance to get everything out. What's the rush, much less customer service?
It's often the little things that make a course stand out - like the staff. Why do the Metroparks courses continually be sub-par when it comes to staff?
The course itself - fine and lives up to expectations.
