About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Terrible staff and maintenance
I went to this course, and it was absolutely terrible was not maintained well at all passive aggressive staff! And false advertisement on the price extremely disappointed would not recommend if your looking to golf, will NOT be coming back if i could leave 0 stars i would.

Great course
The only recommendation I would say is:
1) Cart drinks only pass on time in 4 hours. I would had been better to see that cart at least 3 times in the hole day.
2) 2 bottle of water should be included in the cart
3) Next time I will fill up the cart cooler since hole 1.

Waste of Money
Never play here, hasn’t been mowed in a month. Terrible course conditions! They should be ashamed to charge money to play this trash can! No one can find there ball in the fairway so pace of play is super slow!

Complete garbage
Not mowed for a month, they should be embarrassed to charge people money to play here. Complete rip off that ruined Father’s Day!! Don’t believe the others reviews the grass was 4-5 inches deep in spots around the 150 markers on par 4’s. There were weeds 12 inches tall in the spots . Pace was super slow cause no one can find their ball!! Plus the club house area smelled so bad like sewage it was must had a septic backup.

Almost unplayable- needs a lot of work
Tee off as 7:30am, on Father’s Day-06/18/2023.
The good-The friendly staff, attentive cart girl and a challenging course layout.
The bad- poor course maintenance, no practice balls for the range.
Upon arriving the first thought is that the area was abandoned. The parking lot was in horrible condition, but to be fair their website mentions that the parking lot is under renovation, however it does not appear construction has started. The “pro shop ” is located inside of the bar as well as the restroom. It did not appear that they sold more than golf balls and tees so make sure you have all the gear you need beforehand. Golf Now had the advertised rate at $49pp however it was only $26pp to play. There was less than 1 bucket worth of practice balls available and a larg portion of those balls were competent broken in two or severely cracked. Regarding the actual course, the fairway had not been mowed for some time making good fairway shots unfindable, this slowed pace of place to a crawl. The course has lots of potential however they either do not have the funds or the crew to maintain the course and facilities.
Given how many options are available in the DFW area I will not likely return to the course unless the course is able to correct and maintain the issues above.

My opinion.
This course has great potential if it was maintained correctly. The layout is great and a pretty easy course all in all. Im not sure if these guys have heard of a mower or not but thats what it needs. Greens where in horrible shape all around. Fairway felt like i was stepping out in some two month old grass and god forbid you loose one in the rough. We played at a fast pace, but it was next to impossible to do in the conditions of this course. Honestly this was a first and last time for us. Take what you want from this review but in all of our opinions this course isn't worth $20 to play! Do better guys, dont set false expectations when someone calls in to ask about the course! The desert looks better!

Beginner Experience
I am very new to golf and played a scramble with some friends who are also beginners. It was a very fun time and the marshall Mando was very nice.

Tough course
Water on at least 7 of the nine holes I played. Course is well managed and well maintained. I will play it again.

Poor green conditions
Course is in poor shape. A temporary green on #11. Greens should be in better condition. Mowers haven't been out in a while.

Goat Ranch
It’s a shame to see. Fairway was full of weeds, course is poorly maintenance, greens are in awful condition. We paid $50 on a Saturday for a prime time Saturday Am tee time which is not a lot…. But $20 woulda been too much for this place.

Not worth the money. Should be a $20 course how bad the greens were.
