Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Save your money and play somewhere else
I’ve played here numerous times before and this last time was an awful experience. The course was in horrific condition. I wish I had visual evidence to show you, but the fact that this place charges in the mid 50’s to play here is criminal.

Use to be great
This course is in rough shape.. and I don’t mean needs some rain. It’s bad. This use to be my go to course, loved the layout, always nice to start on a par 5. I don’t see how this course bounce back without selling and letting someone actually spend money on it. It’s a shame that this land has gone to waste. Literally if they charged 15$ a round would be a rip off. Some great people work there, but no one maintains it. Go down the street to prairie lakes. Much better

Worst course in dallas. Clearly too much turf for the crews To take care of. Will never go back.

Giant Dirt Farm
The course was in terrible condition. Non of the greens has grass on them. The course looked like it hadn't had water on it except for rain.

Horrible condition
I played here pre Covid and it was an ok course and price was decent. I was charged $30 and there are ZERO greens. Tee boxes and fairways non existent. Goat ranch is the best description. I understand they had severe weather and flooding a while back. The price should have reflected how horrible the course conditions are. $20 should be the maximum to play while it's in this shape. I would call first and ask for course condition. Take my word for it, it can't be in good shape without some time and a lot of work. Maybe a year or so. It's a shame as it's a cool layout. I should have been told before paying that all the greens are dead and riddled with poanna weeds. Much of the fairways and tee boxes are hardpan dirt.

Greens of dirt
I have played here in the past but never has it been this horrible. Spotty fairways. Teeboxes okay. Then you get to the greens - there is literally no grass, only a few poa weeds. You are trying to land the ball or putt on a dirt mound. Avoid at all costs until is is fixed.

Cow pasture
Of course is a complete cow pasture weeds everywhere playing off a lot of dirt because it’s either dead grass or they said dormant grass but I haven’t seen dormant grass like that. It’s narrow a lot of water and play the actual layout of the course it’s nice it’s just us in terrible condition.

The greens were not green. They were brown with no grass on them and in April they should be in very good condition. I payed way to much money the play in someone’s dirt arena. Course was fairly hard but it’s way harder when there isn’t any grass to hit off of. DO NOT PLAY here if you are going to spend more than $5.

Don’t Play
Staff is great. They have a small clubhouse which is nice too. However, the course is absolutely horrible. They virtually don’t have greens. They have a placed that’s mowed down with sand and a stick. I paid for 18 holes, left after 8 holes because the course was so terrible. Now you might ask, well why didn’t you just stay one more hole and finish out the 9. Well, there were 4 GROUPS ON THE 9TH TEE BOX WAITING TO TEE OFF. I will be actively telling people to not even think about playing this course.

They’ve lost the greens.
I have played here before and it was not the best but was fine every once in a while. Now it is just terrible. Greens are just dirt or dead grass. If you’re a beginner it’d be a great place to learn but no serious rounds of golf are being played here.
