Grand Oaks Golf Club
About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Great course
The course is wide open and a fun round. We played early and pace was great. The staff was friendly.
Sandy greens and grassy bunkers
I have never seen this before but the bunkers were completely covered in grass and the greens were covered in sand. The fairways were great and tee boxes were in good conditions but the bunkers and greens were in rough condition at every hole.
Decent budget friendly course
Decent course for the money. You will enjoy it as long as you go in with appropriate expectations based on a $30 green fee. Traps are non existent now and greens had just been areated which made them more sandy than grass when we played. But this course fit exactly what i needed to take my beginning son out to play a real course.
golf course play conditions
The golf course was in much better condtions than when I played it 2 years ago, at that time I said to my self, I would not be playing this course ever again. However after 2 years i decided to take a chance and I was plesently surprised by the vast improvement vs. 2 years ago ... I would recommend those who had a bad experince, as I did, to go play in now .... it's much more improved and worth the price
Good Course Terrible Greens
They are doing their best with the makeshift pro shop and bar. They are trying to make due before renovations but those greens. Look at the practice greens and the ones on 18 you can see from the club house because thats the best ones available. The others have so many hills and lumps it's down right laughable. Fun course but gotta fix those greens.
Not bad
Greens were struggling and not very accurate. Fairways were great. The rough is so thick and long that it’s super easy to lose balls. Still enjoyed my time out there.
Bunkers and putting greens are in the worst condition.
I've been to several golf courses in Dallas, but I think it's the first golf course that doesn't manage at all. I understand that there is no dress code, but I don't think I'm wearing jeans and a round T-shirt. And when a divot occurs after swinging, it usually fills the divot seat, but people don't know the basic rules themselves, so the level of golf courses is the worst.
Give it a Break
Sadly, the back 9 was closed due to soggy conditions & it was cart path only on the front. Greens really need attention as they were bumpy & loaded with poa anna. With that said, it is a great layout & value for the money & the staff & ownership do appear to be trying to elevate the experience there .I'll be back in about a month for sure...
Course condition was awful
It is absolutely mind boggling that this club charges the rates they do. Fairways were in terrible shape, and the greens were near unplayable. Pace of play has also been pretty slow the few times I played here. Definitely not worth your time or money to play this course because of its condition.
Greens covered in lumpy weeds
I used a code for my round, they wouldn’t accept it because it was a “course holiday” and made me pay cash. I did. Then later I saw that they’d taken the code too! So basically I was double charged. Luckily the code issuer refunded me.
Stacked up at the first tee box, waited. Tee boxes were sketchy, dirt patches and spent grass, fairways were mediocre, but the greens were totally unacceptable. 2 types of grass. One of the types was round, lumps. So, a flat green becomes a mine field.
Then on top of it, throughout the fairways they parked huge dirt movers like construction equipment. Pretty insane.
I’d play there for about $15 a round. Not a cent more.
I’ll never be back.
