Grand Oaks Golf Club
About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Bunkers and putting greens are in the worst condition.
I've been to several golf courses in Dallas, but I think it's the first golf course that doesn't manage at all. I understand that there is no dress code, but I don't think I'm wearing jeans and a round T-shirt. And when a divot occurs after swinging, it usually fills the divot seat, but people don't know the basic rules themselves, so the level of golf courses is the worst.
Give it a Break
Sadly, the back 9 was closed due to soggy conditions & it was cart path only on the front. Greens really need attention as they were bumpy & loaded with poa anna. With that said, it is a great layout & value for the money & the staff & ownership do appear to be trying to elevate the experience there .I'll be back in about a month for sure...
Course condition was awful
It is absolutely mind boggling that this club charges the rates they do. Fairways were in terrible shape, and the greens were near unplayable. Pace of play has also been pretty slow the few times I played here. Definitely not worth your time or money to play this course because of its condition.
Greens covered in lumpy weeds
I used a code for my round, they wouldn’t accept it because it was a “course holiday” and made me pay cash. I did. Then later I saw that they’d taken the code too! So basically I was double charged. Luckily the code issuer refunded me.
Stacked up at the first tee box, waited. Tee boxes were sketchy, dirt patches and spent grass, fairways were mediocre, but the greens were totally unacceptable. 2 types of grass. One of the types was round, lumps. So, a flat green becomes a mine field.
Then on top of it, throughout the fairways they parked huge dirt movers like construction equipment. Pretty insane.
I’d play there for about $15 a round. Not a cent more.
I’ll never be back.
One of my favorites, Grand oaks golf course
Grand oaks is one of my favorite golf courses in the area. It has a great layout with a ton of par 5s And I’ve been many times.
When I got there, for some reason my reservation didn’t show up however the girl at the counter was extremely understanding and still let us play and worked things out with golf now. Every single employee that works here is kind and respectful. The cart girl made frequent stops so we were never out of drinks, and the clubhouse is right in the middle of the course making it easy for a quick stop to get food. As long as you don’t mind the greens needing a little love, this is the perfect place!
Fun course!
The parking lot and cart paths need work but the course is fun! Some of the greens are rough and bumpy but overall I like the course! Just be open minded about it! They are in the process of fixing the parking lot! Hey, one step at a time!
Just awful
Greens terrible layout wasent bad
Tee boxes were okay fairways weren’t good. Grass in the bunkers
Poor Condition
I like playing all courses but the greens were unplayable for any reasonable golfer. Great for beginners or non-golfers. Staff were really friendly but greens had multiple grass types, incredibly bouncy and unpredictable.
This place is a rip off
All fairways were pretty much dirt, greens are full of crab grass and when you put it’s like playing pinball since there is so much crab grass on the greens. Also can’t forget about the telephone wire that literally go over fairways. I paid 20 bucks for a twilight round and I feel like they should have paid me to be there. The fact they are charging 50 for a morning round is an absolute scam.
Won't play again
Had high hopes for this course but the greens were in terrible shape and poorly maintained. The fairways were in bad shape and the cart paths were horrible, my golf bag almost came out of the cart because of it. The pace of play was not the best experience. We kept being pushed and told to speed up the pace when we were waiting for the people in front of us who were walking. We had two new golfers with us and we're having to wait for others before we could hit our shots.
Cup placement was decent but as I said the greens were covered in small weeds making every single putt bounce around like the golf cart did on the cart paths causing every putt to veer off the putts intended path.
I can honestly say I will not be going back. For the money you spend ($57 per person) it is definitely not worth it.
Terrible golf course
Overpriced. I'm not sure you can a course under worse conditions Tee boxes horrible, greens are horrible fairways brutal. The staff was friendly and the beverage cart made plenty of stops. I won't be back.
Great Layout But Needs Work
Played here not knowing any courses in the area. The layout of the course is good, but all areas of the grounds need improvement except for maybe the restaurant snack bar, which was nice. Lots of broken cart, paths, down trees, and torn up ground under repair everywhere.
