About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Grand Oaks Golf Course
Course is in good shape. Fun course to play. Driving range is not available however I was told they plan to plant grass seeds soonest. Club house is new however it is small and has few amenities. Overall we had fun playing the course.
Almost Great
We loved the course's layout. Condition was pretty good except the rough was too long and un-kept, A few bad spots on and around greens and fairways required bumping the ball around. Staff at the club house was nice. They don't have a grill but they offer refrigerated sandwiches. We would certainly return if it wasn't for one major flaw. No yardage on any tee box. When you arrive to a par 3 tee box, you have nothing, and the score cards typical distances aren't the same as the carved stone signs distances at each tee. It cost us 3 to 4 strokes on the day. The marshal asked us if we liked the course and we said if it had yardage marked, it would be great. He didn't like that reply and stated we should have range finders. I've used range finders and find that I prefer a well marked course and I play faster that way. Range finder accuracy can be suspect and take some time to operate. To add to it, the pins don't have prisms in them. If this course would mark the sprinkler heads and offer a base line yardage marker on each tee box, that would be helpful and speed up play. Also when hazards cross the fairway, list the front and carry yardages of the hazards. Add these common features and this place would get regular business from us,
Thank you for your review! We're pleased that you enjoyed the challenge of our layout and that our staff left a great impression on you. We appreciate your feedback and we hope to have you back again soon!
Great! Glad you enjoyed your time with us!
Thank you for the 4-Star review!
Great Day Out
This is third time we’ve played this course. Cart path only today due to rain last night. Most holes have wide fairways but with tricky water hazards on a few... making it very interesting. Greens seem to be in good shape, played a little fast even with good soaking night before. Pace of play was great today... likely all the dads were home with family. Can’t bring your own cooler, but each cart has 2 small coolers and you can get ice at club house. Mature trees, fair amount of shade. We are beginners but enjoy the challenge this course offers. We’ll be back.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Grand Oaks Golf Club.
Value golfing
This place has provided a value golf experience every time. It is a fun track. Conditions are very good currently. Greens are not fast but in good condition. For the price this place is hard to beat. Saw beverage cart 4-5 times. Lots of water and tall grass areas so bring balls if you don’t hit it straight.

Good Stuff
Great course to play for the money. Lots of water on the course. Almost all of the course is in good shape. Just a couple spots that are dried out but most of the time they weren’t really in play.
Thank you for the great review! We are so please you see the value at Grand Oaks golf course, please come back and see us again soon.
GREAT Course GREAT Experience
I've played the course before but it appeared to be in much better shape than before. The greens were good and the staff extremely friendly. Cant wait to play it again!
Thank you for the 5-Star review!
Enjoyed the course
Played in 3.5 hours on a Sunday morning. Fairways and greens in great condition. Had a lot of fun. Will be back.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Bare minimum course
Rarely did I not enjoyed playing golf, especially when weather is fair.
Course conditions were not good, with some cart path submerged underwater. Yet we’re being mandated to Carr path only. Slow play often but not a single marshal sighted. Needed 4:45 to finish playing by myself.Course layout has too many waterways in unseen places. Course design is meh. Clubhouse only has bare amenities. No driving range. Paid $30 and cannot say it’s worth t it
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We appreciate your patience as the course has received a lot of poor weather this peak season. As the course continues to transitions into the hot summer months, we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Pretty crappy
Well for almost $50 you’d expect a pretty decent course to play at but that’s not the case here. No Marshall pushing the pace, fairways are thin, no driving range, greens are like fairways for how long the grass was, construction crew putting in power lines that you have to wait for as they slowly cross the fairways and then watch you play the whole time and overall this place is really rundown. Down brother paying more than $20 to play here because you will be highly disappointed. Parking lot surface will tell they don’t maintain anything. Nice new clubhouse though I’ll give them that lol.
Thanks for the review. We see you rated the course 1-star and are interested in learning what we can do to improve for your next visit. We take single star feedback very serious at our course. We will discuss pricing and your other concerns. Thank you for playing Grand Oaks, and we hope to see you again soon.
The Greens were in terrible shape, the fairway was in good shape.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. Thank you for coming out and we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.

Good first golfing here.
I thought the course was layed out very challenging.
Has new rest rooms but they were locked up could not use them .
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the great feedback. We will look into the new rest rooms, there may have been some maintenance on them on this particular day. Thank you for coming out!
Great golf course
We play Grand Oaks quite a bit and the course has become sort of a home course for me and my friends. Its layed out nicely and has some good challenges to allow a person to work on their skills not matter what the skill level may be.
Thank you for the 4-Star review! We love having all skill levels at Grand Oaks, thanks for playing.
This course needs work
Needs a lot of work. No grass on fairways. Greens inconsistent slow and bumpy ,ball couldn’t hold its line. Rough so thick couldn’t find your ball. Has a lot of water that’s nasty and smelly lots of trash washed in. No handicap flags available.
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great Course For The Money ...Waiting On Irrigation System
I have played this course for many years....even when it went by several different names, and saw several different pros and management teams. It has always been a fun course with amazing potential. I am grateful to the Mai family for saving this old course, by adding false fronts to the greens, res-sodding areas that desperately needed it, and getting the drainage up to par. Sadly, the old irrigation system is crapping out, but they are already on this issue as well. They need to speed things up though, because one good Texas Summer with sub par irrigation has literally destroyed more than one local course. I would truly hate to see Grand Oaks go th way of The Ft. Worth Boat Club which was another fun little Don January Design that died a sad death due to a broken irrigation system and a real scorcher of a Texas Summer.
This course has a fun layout, and they have already improved the sand in the bunkers. It’s good quality golfing sand, not the best ok filled playground stuff so many local courses use when times get tight. I agree with others who say they could use more yardage markers, though my Garmin works fine out there. Not everybody else has a Garmin, or something of similar quality that already has this course loaded onto it. Once the irrigation is back, I expect the hardgreens to soften, and the thin fairways to grow plush again. This course has always been.....a course with potential. I believe. This is the management that could put it back on the map. It is going to take yet even more TLC, but as I said.....nice layout, fun design, the bunkers are there, and they’re just a season or two away from 5 stars if they get the irrigation back online, and the trashy areas and hard pan cleaned up. I’ll be back for sure.
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the great feedback regarding our course conditions, especially after the maintenance we have received. We are working on the irrigation system and hope to get everything up to standards before the summer heat. Thank you for giving Grand Oaks another try after all of the different managements, we really appreciate it! Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Surprisingly Great
It was our first time playing this course, which we chose to do after reading so many great reviews recently. The course lived up to the reviews and my golfing buds and I will definitely be back. When we rolled into the parking lot we thought we had made a mistake ( I get now that they are under renovation ) but once we looked out over the course we knew we had found a hidden gem. My only suggestion would be for the course to post more yardage markers as today was windy and a pure guessing game as to what club to hit. Most fairways had the 150 marker but other yardage markers were scarce. Honestly though that was the only fault which wasn’t anything to keep us from coming back soon.
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the great feedback regarding our course conditions, especially after the maintenance we have received. We are so pleased to be considered your hidden gem and can't wait to see you again soon.
Thank you for the 4-Star review!
Awesome! We're pleased that our course conditions met your expectations and we appreciate your feedback. We hope to have you back again soon for your next round with us!
