Grand Oaks Golf Club
About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

we like grand oaks
very easy to get on. inexpensive. course is challenging. easy to walk in lieu of riding. the only big compaint i have is the trash in the gully's and the riverbeds. its awful.
Potential gaming resource.
I like the abundance of water and sand hazards to test your accuracy and club choice. The greens were in fair condition for winter play but the fairway were in bad shape. Very short grass or no grass at all and very hard compacted. Forget about getting a divot because it was like playing on cement.
Thank you for your honest review. The course has received a large amount of rain this past month, we appreciate you patience if parts of the course were not up to your expectations. Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Course needs help, Staff great.
The new clubhouse and staff are great. Very friendly staff. The course has flat greens and rock hard fairways. Blind water hazards criss cross the course. Some do not even show up on GPS. If you do not know about them, it will be a problem.
Thank you for the great review, we are so glad that you enjoyed the new clubhouse! The course has come along way and we appreciate the feedback.
Needs work
Decent layout but the course is in really poor shape. I’m afraid I wouldn’t go back if it was still in the same shape.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recovery parts of the course. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. Thank you for playing Grand Oaks Golf Club, we hope to see you again soon.
Not At All My Favorite Place To Play
To me, this course is average. I say that, in part, because this course can be quite challenging unless you are a low handicap golfer as there are quite a few trees, water in abundance with several carries from the tee, and several greens are slightly elevated, adding to the challenge, but I also say this because we found several of the fairways grass to be somewhat thin in spots and the greens with a little to be desired, and there is nothing really aesthetically pleasing to see as you move through the round. The main issue with the water is: if you are not familiar with the course, you can't see many of the water hazards so you have to know they are there. I feel that this course is a player's course and it is hard to enjoy the golf if you aren't. On the positive side, the carts were nice, clean and in good condition and the guy who took our fees was outgoing and very cordial. Bottom line, if you are a player, you might like this course. If you are a mid to high handicap golfer it will beat you up hole after hole.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to see if we can make any changes. Thanks for visiting Grand Oaks Golf Club, we hope to see you again in the future.
Thank you for your 5-star rating! Book another round with us soon.
TLC needed
You arrive in the parking lot that needs some TLC. And it is a perfect sign of things to come on the course. Very flat course with somewhat of a boring layout. Not the biggest problem. Fairways are either bone dry and rock hard, or muddy and semi flooded in quite a few places. Sticking a tee in the ground on the tee boxes is impossible. Greens are very slow and bumpy. Ball skips around, forget about rolling. Roughs not maintained well either, lots of litter everywhere.
Overall a poor experience even for winter golf, will not be coming back.

Needs Time
This has the potential to be a very good course at a reasonable price, going to give it time to green-up before judging. 2 items come to mind, first off, the course did not show up in my Garmin. Secondly. the creeks that wind through the course and cross over landing areas in the fairways are not visible from the tee boxes or marked visually. Probably by design, but frustrating to a first time visitor.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking note in the value of Grand Oaks. As we continue to improve the course conditions we hope to see you again in the near future.
First time here
My son and I enjoyed the course and 55 degree day. Somewhat muddy conditions in spots. Several small creeks and ponds you can't see on your tee shot and fairway drive. But first time here, guess I will have to come back to see if I improve. Course is pretty open but you must avoid the water. Lots of twosomes so pace was pretty good. Price was fantastic. Several small greens. For this average golfer, I will be back for sure.

Same ole course, great new clubhouse
Hadn't played the course in 3 years and improvements are being made but layout is unchanged. Greens are still in good shape but other parts of course are being improved gradually. No driving range currently but new clubhouse and patio is freakin' awesome.
Thank you for the 4-Star review! We appreciate you giving us another try after being closed for so long. We have been working hard on getting the course in perfect condition and we appreciate you taking notice in all of our hard work.

On it's way back
Course has been closed for 2.5 years but has reopened. Building a new driving range so only a putting green is available. Although the course has lost 200 + trees due to a pipeline and an oak disease, it is a great layout with enough trees lining most holes that will get you into trouble. Watch out for water hazards you cannot see from the tee box. No cart girl but plenty of ice coolers on the course. Staff is excellent and the new golf shop/bar is really cool with at least 5 TV'S. Will definitely play this course again.
Surprising!
I played here on August 31. The course was in very nice condition. Holes 15 and 16 are tricky if you don't realize there are nearby water hazards. 18 has a hazard on the right that is not visible from the tee box. Trust the aiming stake. So here's the scoop, a couple of years ago there was a microburst which took down hundreds of oak trees and the city, through eminent domain, had put in a pipeline through the middle of the course. The line is buried. This resulted in the course being closed for a bit. The owner did a great job of getting the course back up to speed. It plays like a links style course due to the tree loss but there are still a few tree lined fairways left. The greens were smooth and true.
Thank you for the 4-Star review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your challenging round today. Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Nice water hazrds needs smart play
Though several holes still are under repair, it is enough for fun. Lots of water/creek requires smart play. Overall very good course.
Thank you for the 4-Star review, we appreciate the feedback regarding any materials left on the course. We will take a closer look and see if what we can do to clean this up. Thanks for pointing this out and we hope to see you again in the near future.
