Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Tee times mean nothing.
This is the second time in a row I have showed up on time to play at this place and there is a logjam at the tee box.(2:30 on a Sunday). Our time was 2:37.There were 4 guys teeing off at 2:35.Then there was another foursome and a twosome waiting in front of us.I asked the starter what the deal was and he said people show up late so they have to squeeze them in.Baloney.That was what they said the last time.I think these people just show up and they're "squeezing" them in.I should have inquired further because the log in the clubhouse didn't match what the starter had,my name wasn't even on the starter's list.I planned my day around this and when I saw it was going to take an extra hour,I got a refund and left.My friends stayed so I'll have to see how the disaster went.I have played here for years but I'm done now.I can't drive a half an hour to the course and then have four hackers in t-shirts "squeezed'' in front of me and have any fun.Just jam as many through as you can and who cares if anyone is having fun. Thanks for nothing,Chippewa staff.
Always worth the drive.
Course is always in great shape. Worth the 50 minute drive. The course is easy from the whites and challenging from the blues. The difference is about 700 yds but it is all on the par fours. The tee boxes for some holes have 70 yards differences. Greens are not as fast as they look. They are hard to hold but don't roll that fast. I left too many putts short thinking they were quicker. Course has power lines that come into play off of a few tee boxes. Local rule gives you a mulligan if you make contact with them. Course has a lot of different looks off the tee and some interesting approaches over water. Had a great sausage with peppers and onions at the turn. Played in just under four hours on a Saturday.
Spend a beautiful day at Chippewa
The efficient staff has you teeing off on time. Course is very well maintained, front/center/back yardage markers in the fairway are a bonus. The more you play this course, the more you enjoy it.
Outing
I would recommend you call the course before booking. Upon our arriving we were told there was a golf outing. We were late for our tee time, due to 21 having an accident and sat there for 1/2 hour before being diverted. Upon arriving at the course they put us out on hole 4. Upon finishing 4-9, we then waiting about 1/2 hour to tee off the 10th hole. I asked if we could complete 1-3 before the 10th hole and he bluntly said no. We never were able to complete our round since a league started on the 1st tee. I'll be calling now before booking, since it's now golf outings months.
Very nice public course
Tee to green the course was in fine shape as usual.
Pace of play was good, no hold ups.
Tough 3 holes in a row on the back 9 always interesting and the most likely ones where balls might get lost.
The course was in great shape as usual.
The greens are very fast and pretty large. Fun course to play and always well maintained.
GREAT GREENS!!
I highly recommend Chippewa! As 2 some teeing off at 11:30 we kept great pace finishing our round in less than 3 1/2 hours. We caught a group and they let us play right thru never skipping a beat. Booking thru GolfNow also gave us a discounted rate of about ten bucks. Very happy customer all around!
Thanks!
Well manicured and maintained
Great time. The course was in good shape and beautiful.
Awesome
I love this course Friendly staff and kept in great shape. Can't wait to play again. I drive about 30 minutes to get there but would say best course in area
Great course
The course is challenging and in pretty good conditions. Only had to wait on a couple shots and never felt rushed by the group behind us.
Excellent Course
A great course that will test all your skills. Course was in very good condition except, the greens had a bug problem that they are fixing. They have a famous "Bermuda Triangle" on the back nine. It is 3 holes in a row that are very tough & fun to play. I highly recommend this course.
good course, fast greens
Nice course. Weel maintained. Friendly staff. Play can b slow at times due to overbooking.
Great course
This course is well maintained and challenging. The greens are the best around.

Great place to play
Super nice day and course was just awesome so go play
Extremely Fun Course!
If I had written this review after the first nine holes, I probably would have given 3 stars and considered this course just above average. Not bad at all, but nothing that stands out. But, then the back nine... what a fun nine! The front was short and tight through the trees, and required a lot of target shots off the tee and working a draw or fade around doglegs. Definitely a fun nine, and will lose you some golf balls if you're not precise off the tee. The back nine is a little more wide open and longer, with lots of elevation changes. That length will be more pronounced with a number of uphill approach shots. Lots of carries over water on approaches as well. Greens rolled true, maybe a little slower than one would like but that is only to be expected this time of the year. It was nearly impossible for me to read most putts, the subtle breaks are very difficult to distinguish without some "local knowledge". If it is your first time playing, don't be surprised when a few putts break the exact opposite direction you were expecting. All-in-all, a fun course that I would recommend to anyone to check out. Well maintained (especially for the time of the year), courteous and friendly staff, and a great bargain from GolfNow when it is a hot deal.
great course
Front 9 way easier than back 9!
Greens are a challenge, lots of sand and water!
Pretty course with many slopes and drops and elevated greens and tee boxes. Had a great time!
