Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Greens were rolling fast, fairways were in great shape.
Had a great round, enjoyed the other twosome we played with, getting food at the turn was hard, only one lady working counter, others at counter were standing around. Not paying attention. They lost out on our money.
Really nice play.
Great course..Older clubhouse that smells of good food. Very quiet, non residential, with wonderful views..lots of "TRICKY" challenging holes that really try your placement skills. Love the course, an hour from my house, but we will return. Excellent value. Considering the parking lot was FULL, we breezed through 18 with little or no wait. Timing was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great golf!
Chippewa has the most beautiful greens. They are fast so stay below the hole especially on the triangle holes( 14-16)
Chippewa is one of my favorite courses in the Akron area. The front is much easier than the back so score while you can before getting to the back nine especially 14,15 and 16.I think 15 is the hardest of the Triangle holes with 14 a close second and 16 is not that difficult as long as you stay below the pin.Pace of play is usually pretty fast although this particular round was slower than normal but only because they let a couple 5-somes out .I am not sure why they allow that but it has happened several times to our group mostly on weekday mornings.
August greens were hard and fast. Difficult to hold greens. Bermuda Triangle always is supreme .challenge.
Very enjoyable round overall. With Tee time of 8 a.m. the fairways and greens were all ready to go as we got to them. Good job.
Beautiful rolling hills
I felt as if I were in Ireland. Beautiful rolling hills, and very tough greens. For the most part, getting to the greens is relatively simple, its what you do when you get there that separates good scores from poor ones. These greens are large, and if you are a long way from the hole, 4-putts are not out of the question
Excellent course w/ 1 major flaw
Loved the course. Very picturesque and in incredible shape, but with one huge flaw. The scorecards had no course layout and most tee blocks were not marked with hole number and hole layout. It was very confusing getting to the next block. Otherwise, the course was great shape with a lot of challenge on the back 9. I'll most definitely play here again.
most beautiful course I have played in ohio
Have to get on pace of play took 5 hr 15 min its kiling the game of golf
Good & challenging course but pace of play too slow!
Great value booking tee time through Golf. Now! Chippewa GC is a very good & challenging course, but the pace of play was way too slow! The front nine pace of play was acceptable, but the back nine pace of play was terrible! A 4-3/4 to 5 hour round any time is way too slow, but especially on a weekday, with no
leagues being a factor!
Course in very good shape. Greens fast above the hole. Some pin location pretty tough for weekend players.
Played in foursome . We did not have to wait anytime during the round. Considering amount of rain we have had course was in great shape. Only rcommendation I have is for an express line at turn for food so groups making turn can keep overall pace of play moving. We waited a good ten minues for beverages although food was good.
greens much slower than previous Chippewa greens
one green fast, one slow, one average,.....no consistency and the 14,15,16 triangle of holes is still brutal, makes golfing for fun impossible.
Hilly course with fast greens and in great condition!
Chippewa is a fun course because although it is difficult, it is still a very enjoyable course with some very unique and exciting holes.
challenging long course,tough greens.
This course can play very long from any tee box, for any skill level player. It has many elevated fairways and greens over valleys and lakes. Greens could be very tough with pin placement, on the many ungulated and steep slopes, this course will humble your handicap. That said, this course is in great shape and nicely mowed.
Beautifull Fairways
A very nice conditioned course. I will give this Track a 4.7. The greens are above average speed the day I played. But not that fast at all A very nice layout. Although they have those dreaded high tension towers and lines coming into play The fairways were Mint. The tee boxes manicured. And a fun course to play. I have never played here before and I will be back for my 55 minute drive. It is well worth playing here.
This course is my favorite in northeast Ohio!
This course is always in pristine condition. The fairways run out and the greens are fast and firm.
A shot makers course with some tough green undulations.
I enjoyed playing the course, it is a challenging course from the back tees at 6700+ and especially 14,15,16. The staff was friendly and the conditions were good. I look forward to my next trip there.
Very easy to access from Hwy route 21
Considering the difficult spring weather for northeast Ohio grasses the course was in very good condition.
Probably one of the best courses in Ohio
This course is probably the toughest course in Summit county. Beside losing three balls to water hazards, I found 6 to make up for it. The last 4 holes are the hardest and most challenging especially the 15th. This course makes you think before you hit. The greens were the fastest that I have encountered in the last 5 courses I have played. The whole course is immaculately kept. I play this course at least once a month just to stay humble and appreciate other courses that are not so hard. Still I broke 90 on this course so I am happy golfer.
One of my favorite courses
For this time of year the course is in great shape. It always drains well and when the weather allows the staff to get the course into prime condition you would be hard pressed to find better fairways and faster greens then on any priemium course.
This is one of the best courses in NE Ohio...especially for it being a public course.
Chippewa is one of the most challenging courses you'll ever play. The triangle (14-16) poses the most difficult greens I've ever seen. If you can par them, you should consider them birdies.
Truly one of the best maintained and challenging courses in the area. The Bermuda triangle of holes is as tough as advertised. Can't just hit and hope shots here. Placement is key and therefore contributes to mental side of game. Super friendly staff here as well.
