Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Need a ranger or two
I love Chippewa but the pace of play was deplorable. We had to quit after 15 holes. We were already out there 4.5 hours. We teed off late morning. There was a five-some out about 5 to 6 groups ahead that was lagging severely. Nobody from the course was out during a ranger job. Not interested in Chippewa if this is going to continue.
Always in top notch shape
Greens are always rolling smooth and fast, course is always in great shape and employees are very accommodating! Always consistent
Thank you for the kind words and we hope to see you soon!
Greens had issues
Most of the greens are in bad shape, they are burned out or diseased, and covered with sand and seed. Still playable.
The winter was a bit rough on the greens this year, but they will be back to their normal selves in no time. Thanks for playing and taking the time to review our course!
Chippewa
This course is was in very good shape but not quite the prestine condition we are used to. There were a couple of greens that were not what you expect at Chippewa.
Horribly slow, but good course
Paid for 18, but stopped after nine. Play was painfully slow, topping 3 hours for 9. Didnt even bother with the back 9. Course was in good condition, and was fun to play. Would definitely come back when it wasn't as crowded. Greens were below average condition. Greens were beat up, extremely hard and very fast. Pin placements were VERY poor, and slowed down pace. Management should know better. Great value for the money, but I will not be back on the weekend.
chippewa
Although early in the season I have played this course many times and always in excellent shape with very fast and well kept greens. Nice play.
A great Veterans Day Off
Probably last round of the season. Luckily we have a great weather day for mid November. A bit windy but not bad. Course was in pretty good shape even though they had aerated the greens and fairways recently.
Leaves, leaves, leaves, and windy
Chippewa greens were in great shape and have not been aerated yet. Only problem was it was windy and covered some of the greens with leaves. Otherwise this course was in great shape. Tough back nine with the " Triangle".
Bermuda Triangle holes " 14,15 and 16 "
These three holes are most challenging ..driving,approach and putting.
Blue pin adds to challenge. Specially when the greens are fast as they were
Surprised that the conditions were so good!!!
Course in excellent condition on dreary and rainy fall day.............only a dozen or so cars in parking lot. VERY FEW PROBLEMS FINDING BALLS OFF FAIRWAYS AS THE LEAVES WERE WELL TAKEN CARE OF!!! Great Job......................
Always in Great Shape!
Chippewa is always in great shape. Play the tips and you really have a challenge on your hands, especially with the wind.
Try the Chippewa Wings after your golf day, they're great!
Would like to see some work done on leveling out the blue tee boxes and white tee boxes where needed, other than that, great staff and great place to play golf.
Great course.
The course is is great shape. Greens were excellent. Pace of play was good and the staff was friendly, especially Tyler. One of the best courses in the area.
Watch the pace of play
I've played this course many times in the past, but this was the 1st time booking with GolfNow. The only complaint I have (but it's a big one) is the pace of play and lack of caring from the starter. I was supposed to have been paired up with someone else (since I was a single), but the starter did not attempt to find that pair. There were other twosomes that teed off again and again. I had to wait for 2 groups to tee off on every hole. Hard to get in any rhythm that way.
Deucesdad
Friendly staff course in great condition will definitely be back.
3 trick holes
Always in good to great condition. This time tee boxes were a mess and we had 2 FIVESOMES in front of us on a holiday. Shame on them for that. Three holes on the back are tricked up to much for club selection.
Jack Rabbit
I was the first off and played in just over two hours.
Only had to stop a couple of times for the greens to be mowed. The grounds keeper waved me on the ninth hole and talked to me for awhile and was a great guy! It was worth the 60 mile round trip.
Bermude Triangle
The course is quite fair. The Bermude Triangle ( Holes 14, 15 & 16) makes it substantially more difficlt
Need to manage slow play MUCH better!
I normally don't take the time to write a review on anything but our experience yesterday deserves a comment. Pace of play was good until we hit the back 9. On the tee box at the 12th hole, we noticed 6 high school/college kids on the green. We waited for at least 10 min while all 6 played. They only had 4 sets of clubs so only 4 had paid. I called the pro shop and let them know about the issue. They promptly sent someone (a teenager) to check on the situation. I informed him that there were 6 players and that we had been waiting on them for quite some time. He drove up to them and confronted them. They told him they would split up and let us play through. We went to the tee box and hit with the boys making comments in the back ground. Within 2 holes, there was already a entire hole clear between us and the slow playing sixsome. They never split up and caused a back up like I've never seen. We crossed paths with the groups behind the boys a couple holes later. They were so mad that they began hitting balls into them. When we finished there were at a minimum of two open holes between the sixsome and us (maybe more). This is the courses responsibility to deal with but they did nothing. It really ruined my round because I was so mad I couldn't quit thinking about it.
very nice
best course i have played in 10 years, fast greens, the back nine is tougher than the front, beautiful landscape, course in pristine condition, and
