Chippewa Golf Club

About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Best Public Course in Ohio
I’ve golfed here several times. Each time I come back, the quality of the course increases. Probably one of the top public pro shops also.
Public Course with private course conditions
Chippewa is one of the nicest public course that you will ever play. Always in great condition, with a private course feel. You are never disappointed. A must place to play.
Need a ranger
Staff is awesome. Treated very well. However, they allowed 5somes out on a Friday morning. Took forever to play with these groups messing around playing a shamble/scramble…..
Exceptional Course
Chippewa is always a favorite of mine. The course was in outstanding condition and the greens were fast for this time of year. Really enjoyed the round
Chippewa golf in late October
Course had about an hour frost delay but got us all out smoothly and the pace was very good. Greens were aerated so putting was a little rough but the course was in great shape. Lots of improvements since I last played there. Leaves we’re being cleared very well with only one lost ball all day in leaves.
my perennial favorite in the Akron-Massillon-Canton area.
Love this course. Conditions are excellent compared to area pubic courses. Compared to public courses it should get 5 Star all the way around.
I gave it 4 for conditions as it is not plush and cushy like to high-end golf resorts and high-end golf courses.
This course is benefited by its excellent drainage. It rained, but there was no casual water on the course. I love the course design here, too!
Pure Course
This course is one of the best in Ohio. Super nice clubhouse, great pro and excellent staff. You can take a cart or ride a motorcycle. This course has it all. Super challenging with 14,15,16 being the Bermuda Triangle. You have to strike the ball well to score at this course. It’s in great shape and super fun to play. I would play there once a week if I could!
Really impressed with golf course. So much fun to play, will be back.
