Easy, well maintained course
Pretty easy course to play. My only complaint is they lack a driving range.
Decent course at a reasonable price
I didnt expect much this time of the year but the course conditions were actually not to bad. The greens were in fairly decent condition for this time of year. I wouldnt spend a lot of money on the course but for $20 with a cart on a friday afternoon, its hard to beat.
Good course for the money.
A great course to work on your game, plenty of room and a couple of good par 5's, great location as well. Tee boxes are not in great shape but then again any place that gets that much play would not be much different.
Winter golf, open and fast play
The course was not crowded, staff was friendly, conditions were ok for winter golf, played 18 in under 3 hours, great price w golf now
Fun course to play
We had a great time at this course, and it was an excellent value for the money. The course was under a bit of construction, but the only issue that caused was it was a bit unsightly in certain areas, but those were easy to overlook as the construction never really got in the way of normal play. The only "complaint" I had was that on a few occasions, the yardage from the tee box on the scorecard and on the sign at the beginning of the hole sometimes differed, and I was unable to find a yardage marker on the ground to go off of. It wouldn't matter much if it were a few yards, but, in once instance, it was a difference of around 15 yards. All in all, it was a great course I would happily play again.
Great course
The course has some nice open fairways on most of the holes there are a few semi chalenging holes such as a par three over water and a par 5 with a creek crossing about 40 yards in front of the green hole 18 is a long par 5 from an elevated tee box where you can place a monster drive but still have a hard time getting to the green in 2.
Very Very Slow Greens
Typical of a muni course, greens were very very slow. Pace of play was slow but was encouraged to see a marshall circling around the course. Hard to keep pace of play around 4.5 hours when there are walkers playing aside you.
Great bang for the buck!
Greens were a little slow, but overall the course was in great shape.
Convenient and playable
Easy access from almost anywhere, pretty decent layout and conditioning. A good value when the price is right.
Great for the money!
I love this course. The course is wide open and very forgiving. I would definitely play this course again, and plan to this Friday during the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Average, but very enjoyable course in the DC Area
There's nothing really special about Greendale, although I have enjoyed playing it every time I've been there. The Par 3s are all very long for my taste, especially the 16th. Overall, I have no complaints about the course, but it's nothing to write home about.
Great for the money.
I wouldn't say the course was pristine, but was definitely in good shape. I teed off at 7:57 a.m., and there wasn't much waiting at all. Granted it was a Monday morning, but the rangers were actively driving around asking how everything was going, and the starter, and gentleman in the pro shop were very welcoming. Great deal!
run of the mill municipal course
The tee boxes were in the worst shape that I have seen them here. The fairways were mostly ok and the greens were in good shape. There were maintenance workers on the course when I played.
This course needs attention.
I have played Greendale many times, and while it is not generally in very good shape it was just awful this time. Many of the tee boxes were unplayable and the greens pock marked, slow. and hairy. Only holes 10, 11, 12 and 13 were up to "par".
