Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Great cart paths!
If you are willing to pay $96 for great cart paths, this course is for you! The drainage at this place is horrible. Many greens and fairways were soggy...even though it hadn't rained in 2 days. The "greens"...I think I would call them browns instead. Deadspots on every green which took up about half of each of them. The Tee boxes were covered in weeds covering most of it. It would look mediocre if they cut the weeds, but of course not. Let them grow, right, because $96 isnt alot for golf. Are there groundskeepers? If they spent half the time or money on the course as they did the cartpaths, this place would be pretty good. Unfortunately, this is the worst kept place I have even played in, and I have played in 5 or 6 different states. I will say besided the cart paths, the people all seemed really nice and personable.
Should be better for the COST
Tee boxes and greens are diseased and over grown, fairways were better than average.
No marshal and saw the Beverage person once on 18 holes. Food bar was ok, the hot dogs were not hot.
Too expensive for the service provided.
I have played this course for over 20 years and it has been hit or miss and the last few times I played its been a miss.
Ugh! Stay Away!
Many (5 or 6) greens have significant areas of dead grass. This should be a fine course in the area (it is a good design) but the condition, again, just is terrible. It happens every year and they don't do anything about it.
Poor condition
They only had the back 9 open the course was soggy poor fairway and greens. Driving range was also closed
Frustrating
I paid in advance through Golfnow and when I arrived, learned that 1/2 of the course is under construction. the attendant said, "Well, if you made the teetime through us, you would have known."
Fixing the cart paths next 3 weeks be warned
Only members knew that next 3 weeks or more the course is replacing the cart paths. You will have to play either the back 9 or the front 9. Pace of play was fine but would have played somewhere else if knew. Good course and friendly staff
It’s a swamp
Had not played here in a decade and thought I’d give it a go. Showed up 17-20 hours after the last rain and it was a swamp. Standing water that looked like a pond on multiple fairways. Cart paths had water everywhere, the drainage on this course is terrible, lots of bugs. We also waited 5 minutes on every tee box. The driving range was shutdown and it was cart path only, still got charged full price of $95. Won’t be back.
Nice layout, pace of play is often slow.
This course could be so good if they could keep a consistent pace of play. I have actually walked off the course due to a 9 taking 3 hours. It's generally well kept, the staff is nice and it's a better than average layout.
Lookin Good
Course is in good condition. Greens are lush and soft. Fairways are nice. Tee boxes have lots of divots.
For $94 and a 90 degree day they should provide water on the course. No water coolers in that type of heat is ridiculous. All other courses seem to be blue to provide water. That’s just lazy
