Pleasant Valley Golf Club

After 2 days of rain the course was soft and lush. Fairways and greens very lush. Nice course.

The last time I played Pleasant Valley, there was no sand in the bunkers and the tee boxes looked like they'd been sprayed with Agent Orange. That was maybe 2 years ago, during an unusually wet spring, summer and fall. I think disease must've spread on the tee boxes, and the fairways were also being slowly affected, and rain washed all the sand out of the bunkers. I thought I'd never come back. But I read recent reviews which said conditions had improved and they certainly have. Now I feel the layout and the conditions make it worth the premium pricing. The tee boxes are unrecognizable from how they were before, they're fully covered with grass, no clumps of crab grass and weeds or bare brown patches. Fairways have recently been slit so the coverage was a bit thin but very playable, the rough was thick and consistent, bunkers full of fluffy sand and the greens rolled true. I'm so happy management has been diligent and kept their promises to return the course to excellent form. As an added bonus - it seemed all the range balls were recently replaced, now they're shiny and yellow. Only thing they could improve is to give the golf carts a wash, they were covered with dirt.
