Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Wonderful!
Unfortunately, the greens were aerated the day before I played…likely why the price was such a hot deal ;) Nonetheless, the course is in great shape, carts are tip top, and the beer offerings fantastic. Lovely staff as well. Highly recommend!
Welcome
It was very warm welcome. After three year layoff due to the Covid, the round of golf was very refreshing and your warm welcome added additional enjpoyment.
Expensive and lacking basic amenities
I’ve played pleasant valley a few times in the past. Was shocked to see a round now is $120 during peak times. For an average neighborhood course that is super expensive (as is the sister south riding course).
We played early afternoon is it was a hot day at over 100 degrees. We passed the drinks cart on the first hole, and then there was absolutely no water/drinks available for the rest of the round. The cart lady did not come by at all and there were no water coolers at any of the holes. This was unacceptable given the high cost of the round and not having Basic amenities available. Plus it was cart part only so there was a lot of walking on a super hot day.
Course conditions were fine- green la were in great shape but fairways seemed like they were aerated so had many areas that were disturbed.
Nice course!
Congratulations, the course and club house look wonderful. Great greens and bunkers in perfect raked shape. Thanks for a wonderful day. See you again. Brett
HOT Round
Got a hot deal to play here. The weather was extremely hot. Teed off at 9:50. Played a 3 hour round which was great. It went to CPO at 1PM because of the heat.
Fairways and greens were nice. Greens a touch slow but had a great time.
Pleasant Valley
Nice course but prices went up significantly in 2024 and not worth new prices.
Well Maintained
Course was in great shape
Some of tee boxes needed some work. Pace of play was great. Assuming due to the heat and price not crowded. Loved the layout. I’ll be sure to return
Pleasant Valley
Nice course but has gotten far too expensive for the quality of the course.
What a turnaround for this team!!
Wow! I can’t say enough about the turnaround at this golf course. I last played it two years ago and told myself I wasn’t going to come back. The prices they charged back then? I could play Algonkian, Twin Lakes, Herndon, Reston National (lol), Potomac shores, Westfields, brambleton, laurel hill, Blue Mash, for better price and value. Now? These are the best greens in Fairfax county if you don’t belong to an expensive country club. The fairways are beyond lush, and the tee boxes leave nothing more to be desired. This team has crushed it in the last 18-24 months and they deserve your visit and your money. You won’t find better golf at a better price anywhere else. I’ll be back all summer. South riding is the same story. Incredible!!
Nice course
Nice course with a good variety of holes. Staff were excellent as was the food in the clubhouse. Real hot day and they provided unlimited bottles of cool water which was a nice touch. The only negative was the pace of place, 3 hours for the back nine is not acceptable and didn’t seem to be any sign of the slow groups getting stirred along. Overall though a good course in great condition, albeit a bit pricey.
Pleasant Valley June ‘24
Course was in good shape. Occasional wait at par 3’s
Nice staff. No snack cart available on this weekday.
Will play again next time I’m in the area.
Great Course
Love the course & the layout...it'll be challenging for average golfers but offers some difficulty even for single digits.
The issue is value...$100 to play this course is ridiculous, but it's 2024 and that's what we pay in this DC market...
