Nice pace of play
Enjoy playing here. I find pace of play is always good during the week and the starter and staff very friendly. Greens in great shape, tee box and sand could use some work. It appears the course is doing some sprucing up. Staff is always friendly, but we did have an unpleasant and aggressive interaction with the management, which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Perhaps he was having a bad day!
Great Muni for the $$$
While the fairways were completely brown due to dormant conditions, this track was quite nice. The bunkers were red clay as opposed to sand - but they were consistent. The layout was diverse and quite nice; fairways are probably great when not dormant; greens were pretty good for March, tee blocks were above average. A nice selection of tees makes for a set of tees or all skills. I'll play here again after June when verdant!
Local
Good course with some challenges. Can’t wait for the grass to come in!
Unfriendly Female Staff
Paid for cart rates, but I was not given a cart because the time was past 3pm; this was not mentioned. I was told I can use a cart as long as we return it by 5pm. The female staff was unfriendly and rude.
Best bang for your buck in cville
Course was good, grass was dead but that’s expected during this time of year with Bermuda. We took 3 and got paired with a random walker, was a chill dude but slowed up the pace a bit. We got told after 9 that cart return was after 5 so we didn’t get to finish 18 even though 5pm was probably the nicest it had been all day. I’d play there again
Always a good time here Beautiful surroundings Nice carts although a little sensitive with geo fencing
I played with my 8 year old grandson and we were paired with a father-son dual who were delightful. We played 9 holes in a little under 2 hours. Great value. For a public course, I thought that the conditions were pretty good for the end of October.
The perfect getaway on a fall day!
This course was a good place to play on a beautiful fall day! Good views, challenging play, and good company on the course.
Course ranger/starter
Show up for tee time right on time, course starter stops us from going straight into club house to lecture us on showing up right on time, once inside the clubhouse was friendly, once we get set to play the course ranger gives us a lecture stating he shouldn’t let us start and should make us wait 2 hours until he has a place for us to start, he really made the whole experience horrible, course conditions were awful but wasn’t expecting great due to rain the previous week, however charging full price to play in a hayfield was unwelcoming, fairways and 2nd cut were the same length, George the course starter/ranger seemed to be on a power trip and made the overall experience of this course the worse golf experience Iv had
