Lake Monticello Golf Course

Tee boxes, fairways, greens, sand traps all quite good. Layout is challenging but fair. A very pretty track! Super value if $60 or less!

Overall, the course was good. The fairways still haven't come in all the way but the greens were great. Once the fairways catch up it will be pristine.

The staff was Very helpful. I am from Florida and we are used to very flat courses. This course had great terrain. I really enjoyed the layout and you can spot deer all over the place. The fairways were a little rough due to the dry conditions, but the greens were real soft and played a little slow. Overall, for the value, this is a Wonderful track. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Picked a nice day that had sparse play with early afternoon start. Fairways a little dry and thin in places. Greens in great shape.

Nice layout but fairways and greens could be much better.

Always looking to try new courses and wanted to split the difference between Richmond and Charlottesville. Got paired up with a local and one of the club pros. It was like playing with a caddie. So helpful and truly inviting. Nice layout. A few forced layups which I'm never fond of but played them perfectly so made it better. Greens are beat up from the weather and were recently sanded so it was tough to get the speed or is that just my bad putting. Got off right before a league so it was a bit of a slog on a few holes but it allowed us to take our time. The course rule is Golds over 55 so thst was a bonus. Great lunch in the clubhouse. All in all a great day of golf.

The absolute worst greens conditions I've ever seen. Not sure what happened here but they should be forced to warn players how bad the greens are. Putting in the fairway would have been better. Normally a nice course but this is unacceptable. Wouldn't play here again until the issue is resolved.

We love playing Lake Monticello & make the drive from Richmond on a regular basis, but we were shocked to see the greens in such poor condition. I know the excessive heat & unusual rainy July didn’t help things. I hope the grounds crew can get the greens back to their normal fantastic conditions soon.

Lake Monticello is a great course, quiet and generally well maintained. The greens and tee boxes were not in the normal good condition for this round, but still a good experience. When the greens come back to their regular playing condition, the rating will be back up to five stars.
