Wet, so it plays long
After the snow and rain course was in surprising good shape. Course played long, but manageable. Enjoyed the day
Nice walk on first of the year
I've played this course about 5 times. I live in Arlington - 30 minutes away - and first took the drive out 2 years ago. This time of the year, the twilight rate is 50 bucks (range and cart included). I showed up way earlier to hit balls and putt and was able to go about 35 minutes before my tee time. I decided to walk the course (first time walker) and found the course to be in pretty decent shape. The course gets a lot of play and I was surprised by number of divots.
I believe this is one of the more challenging and scenic courses in the area. From the blues at 6,500 it's pretty long, but fair. Additionally, it's clear that thought went into building the course and laying out the greens (which I can't say for every course in the area). I love the back nine of this course. The front nine has some long and tough par 4s, but the back nine narrows up and provides some great birdie opportunities. The last 5 holes are a great finish.
Not impressed
I realize that we were playing golf in February but the course was so not up to what I was expecting? We played at a decent pace for a Sunday but I was a little disappointed in the conditions. Staff was very friendly and the outside grill was open as that was the only place we could grab food and beverages since someone had rented out the club house already.
Good course but it was a swamp land
Westfields is a great track but it was a swamp and I didn't approve of the temporary 16th hole. If you're going to have a temporary hole then you have to let golfers know before they tee off.
Best all-around experience!
On a cool to cold blustery December day the course was still in great shape. And the staff treats everyone as if it's your own private club, very friendly, they make it a great experience.
this course is good condition and very kind service to me what they prepare to me hot town after round. it is a amazing
I am so superseded because they support the hot town and cleaning club....so great service and wonderful lunch.
Beautiful
Well maintained and one of the best hospitality in this area
Coffee, hot chocolate, even some soup are free (included), and the green fee is reasonable
Definitely repeat!
New favorite
I've played this course twice now and it's my new favorite. Extremely picturesque and a good fun challenge. I've brought others to this course and everyone left pleased. For the money definitely worth the trip
First Class
Other than the greens being aerated and prepped for winter, very good play.
LOng Round
I booked at 12:30 (as a single) and I didn't start playing until well after 1:00. While I appreciate the need to pair up with folks and do so happily. They pushed member ahead of me and I sat waiting for a member that never showed. As a result, I didn't even get to finish my round. If it weren't such a beautiful day, I would have been perturbed.
70 degree windy day in Late November
Despite the previous week's freezing temps we got a very windy but 70 degree day. the course had what seemed to be very late aeration of the greens but even though the season is winding down, the course was well staffed and still in top shape.
Westfields maintains a decidedly upscale feel to it and the greens were fast and I good shape. beverage cart service was still active and timely.
All in all, a very nice day on the links as usual with this course.
Well conditioned.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in excellent condition. All ball washers filled with nice towels. Practice range was in good shape. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Course is set up nicely
Course was in excellent condition, especially for late October.
Greens were outstanding with the exception that there were about four (4) that had been recently sanded (or similar maintenance) and they were significantly slower than the other greens.
Good course with nice staff
You can feel the kindness of staff from your arriving parking lot.
Fairway condition is very nice and green speed is fast.
Great Layout
Had a great time at Westfields despite the soggy conditions. It is a beautiful layout and plays tough from the back. Greens roll well and can be tricky with pin placements. I will be back again soon.
Good views
All holes are well thought out. You have to have a plan. A good game plan is essential. All par 3 are very well structured and very difficult. Lots of bunkers, water, fast greens in a very links kind of pace. I am very impressed with over all experience.
Always great
This course is a model of how a course should be run. Pace of play is properly managed. Conditions are consistently great. Reasonably challenging layout. I almost always play on weekdays when the rates are reasonable and pace of play is always 4hrs or less. This course is worth seeking out.
Challanging course
Been playing for 5 years now and Managed to get my handicap into single digits and I must say this course is one of the more difficult courses in northern Virginia in a good way. Great course layout front nine a little more difficult than back, back more fun with drivable par fours. Only disappointment was as great as the greens run and as speedy as they are they are about a 7 with people not repairing or the course not noticing that they could be a little better . Otherwise 4.5/5 and must play course for all
