The Gauntlet Golf Club

About
The Gauntlet is situated along the banks of the lake that is the centerpiece of Curtis Memorial Park. When it first opened in 1995, Golf Digest recognized it as one of the "top ten new courses to play in the U.S." This challenging layout will definitely test your shot making abilities. The golf course begins with a tough front nine that has several sharp doglegs over water and tall grasses. There are also a slew of blind shots. The back nine is a bit gentler since there's less water and it is more open and forgiving, but the large, multi-tiered greens can be tricky. The fourth hole is the golf course's signature. Your tee shot will have to carry a marsh to a narrow landing area on this par 5. After that, you'll be faced with a triple-tiered green with the lake to the left and bunkers to the right.

Making Memories 1 hole at a time
Under New Directions Management the Gauntlet has made a major leap forward to becoming the course the designer was trying to achieve. Every single shot requires the golfers full attention.
I am impressed that the course is so accessible and able to challenge every level of golfer.
Course is looking great, the work on the bunkers and greens is paying off.
Beautiful, but tough
Hidden shots, but course in pretty good condition.
Amazing
This is one of the best course in the area. Challenging but fair. The views are spectacular and the undulating fairways and greens makes
It’ a very special course. GO PLAY IT
Tee times on time. We let singles play through.
Did not play particularly well however had a great time.
Tim
A challenge for first timers but beautiful course in park setting (no houses!) with an abundance of wildlife to see along the way. Well run facility.
Tough course
The course is in pretty good shape with some less than perfect spots on the greens. There are many blind shots both off the tees and from the fairways. Local knowledge would be a great help. Choose your tees carefully. Not an easy course especially the first time you play it. You need your A game to score well. Looking forward to playing it again
Good course for the price !
Good over all course for price. Greens are bent grass and they needed to rolled. Challenging layout and greens are not easy! Fun course.
Gauntlet Golf
Excellent staff and starter was very helpful explaining the golf to us. Love the course and I booked for next week.
You'll Love this Course
Second time playing here, first time was last fall. The course is set in a park and is absolutely beautiful. Fairways and greens were in good to very good condition. Course was not overly crowded.
The holes range from pretty easy even for a relatively new golfer to difficult even for the above average golfer. Most fairways are relatively wide as are some of the greens but the rough, hazards, water, and different elevations that will challenge you for sure.
The condition of the clubhouse, grounds, and carts is excellent. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Food is good and there is plenty of outdoor seating. Had a lot of fun on a lovely course that is clearly managed by people who care about their customers.
Bepper
Overcast skies and damp fairways from light morning rain gave way to light course play. I teamed up with another single golfer and had a great time. The clouds cleared some as we played and had a very comfortable and fast round. We both had a couple of birdies each and shot reasonably okay.
I hate COVID
Front half of course little slow with extra bodies around who are not at work. Otherwise very enjoyable day. Fairways and greens in good shape.
Gauntlet
First time playing Gauntlet. The people made a wonderful first impression. The young woman at check in could not have been nicer. She may have been an owner since her dad was rounding up carts. Seemed like she was genuinely happy we were there... refreshing since most golf employees are cranky old men or entitled brats. The course wasn’t in the best condition but will give a pass for early season. The greens were too long & slow but I believe they are doing maintenance. We only played the first 9 holes in the afternoon & weren’t waiting on anyone or had anyone behind us so felt like we had the place to ourselves which was enjoyable. The new bunkers are fantastic. The layout was challenging & interesting. Again it wasn’t pristine but couldn’t ask for more at $25 for 9 holes in the afternoon. It’s a very peaceful setting with no houses & especially enjoyed all the holes by the lake. Had a drink on the patio overlooking the course after. The bartender was equally friendly. We didn’t have any food but enjoyed the scenery. My only complaint was the driving range. It was mostly dirt & half the balls should be thrown out & I don’t think the machine gave me as many balls as I paid for. I will definitely go back based solely on how wonderfully we were treated. And next time hope the course is in a little better shape.
