Awesome course
First time I've ever played here and I'm wondering why it took me this long to come play here. The course has so many different variations from hole to hole. Water hazards, sand traps, straightforward holes, uphill, downhill valleys, blind tee shots, undulating greens, etc. You name it you got it here. Will definitely strongly consider making this place my home course.
Beautiful Scenery, Always interesting and fun course yet, challenging,
It's been few years last time I played on this course. The Staffs are always friendly as I remembered,.
The course fairway is very nice and greens are in Excellent condition and well taken care of.
I played "Longest" and "Waterfall" as I played last time.
Tee box is in average condition, can make nice clean shot from fairways, and greens are firm and hold the shot and rolls fast [green speed was about 10, not slow but fast enough].
Need to go back to play "Island"!
Another nice fun memory whenever I play here.
Meadows Farms, By Far the BEST Course in the Region!!
First Time playing Meadows Since new owners took over. All I can Say is they have done nothing short of AMAZING. The Improvements and condition of the facilities, and courses are outstanding. First 18 was so good we played another 18. Staff is friendly, helpful, and polite, made you feel like you were an old family friend. I cannot Recommend this place enough, other courses in the area could learn a lot from these folks. Fantastic Facilities and a Fair Price. Thank you Meadows for a really great day.
Great place to play
Very fun course and the staff have the course in great playing condition.
Get local course
Played this course for the first time on the seventh and just couldn't believe how fun the course was. Very challenging plenty a hazard but also very forgiving with these long fairways. Staff is exceptional and really took care of us. Played the next four days there. Wasn't planning on doing that but really like the place. Wouldn't you know it it play different every day.
Play here!
Love the course! The owner Josh and his father are always there to say hello and thank you for coming out. Played in less then 3 hours. The food is great and the staff is friendly (which is worth the price of admission these days in itself) definite will be back!
Not for me
The course is in pretty good condition. I have nothing bad to say about the conditions. The whole layout and gimmicks are just not for me.
Had a Great time!
I enjoyed a wonderful golfing experience. The 9 AM tee time was great as the course was not crowded and I could take a mulligan on a shot or two. I really like the layout of the two nines I played. However, I was a little confused on following the yellow or blue arrows to be on the right nine. A roving marshall came along and helped me get to the correct hole on the correct course. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Great Course
My wife and I played this course several times in the past month and most recently on July 23. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition considering how dry it has been. With a 27 hole layout you can change up course layouts easily. Josh and the staff make everyone feel like a member. This course is the best value in the area.
This course was perfect
My first time playing at Meadows Farms and I was very impressed. The course was in great condition and the holes were amazing. I played the island green, waterfall, and baseball holes. All very unique and fun to play. I definitely recommend this course and will be back when I head back up to Virginia next summer.
Great simple course
Course is short and very playable. Greens are very receptive despite the recent hot weather. There are a couple of gimmicky holes but they aren't "stupid gimmicky." For the price, condition, and staff I'll continue to come back from time to time.
Great layout.
Great condition, staff, price and not overbooked. The pace of play was good.
Always fun to play
The course has greened up and is in the best shape that I have seen in years, the greens are in excellent shape. Kudos to Josh and the maintenance team for doing such a good job, always fun to play here.
Best Bang For Your Buck!
I play Meadows at least once a week. Every time I play the course just keeps on getting better and better. The changes/clean-up of the course are outstanding and it really opened-up the course and made it look much cleaner. The fairways are great and the greens are in very good shape. You can't beat the price compared to other surrounding courses. I'll definitely keep on going to Meadows. Keep up the great work guys!
Don't miss this unique course
Meadows is one of my favorite. Must play the Water Fall Hole. Worth the trip. Staff is excellent and have a lot of fun tournaments on the weekends which is what the Fredericksburg area has been missing for the golfer that wants to compete a little bit.
Not as unique as it used to be
I previously reviewed this course years ago when I first played there. Back then, there was a lot more charm to the course itself than the changes that have been made in the past couple of years.
For instance, they have filled sodded the "island" Par 3 on Waterfall that used to be completely surrounded by bunkers and I thought it was a fun challenge. Likewise, they've filled in the baseball diamond on the par 3 on Longest and now the only clue you have that you're teeing off on a baseball field is the dilapidated wall beyond the green.
Lastly, and most disappointingly, you used to be able to drive your cart up behind the waterfall on the par 3 but instead of making repairs to the tunnel, they simply walled it off.
I know these seem like mild complaints, but these are three examples of what I felt made Meadow Farms fun and interesting. Now, all that's left of note is the Par 6, and they don't even use the back tee box anymore.
I can't complain too much, after all I only paid $35 this time and the people are still friendly. But living an hour and a half away now, it's not worth the drive to me anymore.
Well maintained course
Very well designed course for higher handicap golfers like me with occasional challenges for better golfers. First three holes on Longest Nine were a real test. Course conditions were good. Roughs were punitive, so stay in the fairways. Worth the trip to Orange County.
Great course and a great staff
